It worked on my VBI Compal HEL80 with T7600 processor!
1. Create bootable flash-disk using
this page, really simple.
2. Reboot to DOS, dump current CMOS settings to file using "symcmos -v2 -lDefault.txt" command.
3. Reboot to Windows, manually change/add those 3 values into the saved file, save as "new.txt".
4. Reboot again to DOS, use command "symcmos -v2 -unew.txt" for loading the new CMOS values.
5. Shutdown your PC. This is important, just rebooting does not work.
6. Turn on the PC, change the default boot device in BIOS to HDD and reboot to Windows.
7. Done, XP Mode in Windows 7 works now
Another question, has anybody tried to enable AHCI on VBI Compal HEL80 notebook?
