    Hi everyone,

new here, reading this forum for quite some time now.
I'm planning to order hte IFL90 but in the store they told me that the model is not deliverable with the TV Tuner due to some heating problem that is going to be corrected by Compal and I guess is now in the process of correcting it. They told me that I will be able to buy the Tuner after this is rectified.

Is this true? I couldn't find anything about this here nor on the web. Hope someone would help me.
    Thanks

We have never seen or heard of any heating issues that arise from installing a TV Tuner. Were you aware the IFL90 has been discontinued and now replaced with the JFL92?

TV tuner heating: I have never heard that neither.

IFL90: I said that in one of my posts, I said that the IFL90 was fading away and people denied it. Now you are saying that it has been discontinued, is this confirmed by Compal? (sorry to get off topic a little)

We have discontinued it and many distributors have also as the JFL92 is the same price and uses the most current technology..

Ok, that's good to know. another off topic question to take advantage of your time and brain, can we OC the FSB of the IFL90? My FSB is 800MHz, could I bring it up to 1,066MHz?

I have not personally OC'd the FSB in this machine or heard from any of our customers who have. Some people have OC'd the CPU some in the Sager Section using SetFSB.

Thank you, I'll think about it, I don't want to create problems where there is not.

Thanks, just started thinking about the JFL92. Seems like a better option. But it is a lot cheaper than the place where I buy it.

so which res are you getting? As far as the tv tuner goes, they probably don't have any in stock so they are just telling you stories. I ordered one from here and I got it quick.

I don't know about the res which one it is, I'm waiting for the Penryns to come in the store by the end of the month so I'm not buying it yet. I think I'll just wait until they receive the tuners. And yeah, I think they are telling stories too.
I asked if they can deliver XP, they said it is no problem even though normally Vista goes with it.
About the price, I think it is a little bt more expensive than elsewhere.

I would wait for the fastest, you don't want to get excited to the point to want the fastest one, then you'll have to pay another $400. Set your laptop for a long time.

I don't think it is that big difference between these two CPUs, T9300 & T9500, to wait so long, who knows when are they going to have it the store and I need a notebook. Anyway this will all be slow and old in year time. Hope I'll get a new one again in that time.
    But thanks for the advice.
