Hi, I was thinking about getting a Hel30. but after reading some of the posts here, I thought Hel80 might be a better option. My main concerns of Hel80 vs. 30 was the weight and battery life. Does anyone know how much longer is the battery life on a 30 vs. 80?

    thanks

I would imagine since the screen on the HEL 80 is larger, that it would drain more power, and therefore not have as good battery performance.

Since the screen is only an inch larger however, the battery times between the two computer would be negligible. If your moving it around a lot (~80% of the time) and going for portability, I personally would recommend the HGL30 over the HEL80. Both laptops are quite excellent as the regulars on here will tell you, so the deciding factor between the two should be either you want a lighter laptop with a smaller screen, or a larger one with a bigger screen.

I used to have a 15.4", and now I have a 14.1". If you want the 1680x1050 display resolution, then you have to go with the HEL80. If you were going to go with the 1280x800 display, there's absolutely no reason I can find to go with the larger machine unless you really want the extra weight and such. The battery life should be similar, if not tipped in favor of the HGL30 due to it's smaller size.
