    Hi all,

I'm really stressing out and would love some input on this.

Ok... I flashed my bios to one of the bios's found on biz

Everything seemed ok. But i found that

    1. my tpm module in no longer being detected.

    2. i cannot install new drivers for the modem

I have tried flashing down to 5b but still the tpm module wont get detected.

I dont really use tpm but i'm still worried.

What should i do, should i just leave it as it is? or ??

Think the crisis rec will work for me? i dont have a usb floppy, tried it with a cdrom but didnt work. it did go into rec mode however

Not being detected by the bios, or by windows? Cause you have to enable it somewhere in the bios settings for windows to be able to detect it I think.

lol, of course i checked that, the bios acutally say's that the tpm status is " Not Detected"

it used to always say something even when its disabled.

And naturally windows can't see it

I can't seem to get the crisis disk working, i got my bro's usb drive, do i have to make it bootable and then add the crisis disk files?

i'm Trying to do the crisis disk method using a cdrw or flash.

I havnt had no luck. Do i need to make the media bootable then copy the crisis disk files?
or do i just copy them on only??

Also i'm confused where do i find my hel80 bios file to rename, from what i read its not the big .rom file is it?

Why did you open this as a new thread when you already have this topic running in your other thread? Also, have you tried to use the search function? Or checked the sticky at the top of the main COMPAL page? Good info in there.

    No i still havn't got a usb - floppy.

I was reading and some people where saying they it SHOULD work with a cd or usb or flash disc. But this was never confirmed.

I really hope it goes back to Normal and it doesnt stuff up further by doing this

i thought it should of worked with either usb or flash disc. guess i'l have to buy a usb-floppy

I'l let you all know if i get it working either way.

Really hope it works in the end, got so much work to do.

I have merged your threads, To2Kool2. They are basically the same topic.

As pyro9219 suggested, reading through some of the threads we already have as well as searching the Compal forum would likely yield some helpful information.

I'm curious though, was there any particular problem you were trying to correct with the BIOS update?

Chrisyano, i saw a vista bios, so i thought i needed to update.

I just got a usb- floopy, so i'l see how it goes now.

If anyone recommends not doing the crisis rec, please let me know soon and why?

It worked, but i still can't detect my tpm.

I was getting ec errors in windows. Anyone know what could of happend?
