I have a Hel80 purchased through Ibuypower as the Battalion model. 2.0 ghz cpu with 1 gig ram. I am unable to get Linspire 5.0 to even boot in the live mode on this laptop. If I try it on a Toshiba P4 3.0 ghz laptop Linspire boots up without a problem.

On my Hel80 if I try to use Freespire I can get it to boot but the touchpad pointer moves erratically to the point of being unusable. On the Toshiba P4 3.0 ghz laptop Freespire runs with no problems and the mouse works properly.

My Hel80 runs XP Pro and Vista without a hitch. Is there a problem with the Core 2 Duo processor in the Hel80 trying to run the Linspire and Freespire programs? Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Any chance you could try something like Ubuntu? I'm not sure how outdated the software in Linspire/Freespire is.

The twitchy touchpad happened to me more in X.org 6.9 than in 7.0... it may be just that.
