Hi guys I need help. I have the power settings for my notebook to turn off display after being idle for 10 minutes (when pluged in,5 minutes when not), however I cant get the screen to resume (by either touching a key or the touchpad) without either restarting or putting it in standby and then waking it up. Any suggestions?

Sounds like my problem, too! Except my power management is set to NOT to power down my display after a while. It STILL goes off, and can't come back on until I shut down or put it into standby and resume.

So obviously the OS is still running - just no display.

What OS are you running? It only happens in XP, but not Vista ( dual boot ).

I think I have the same problem.

I have the setting in the power management window, that turns off your display after a few minutes and even the one to turn it off when you close the lid, off.

Yet when I close the lid for like 2 minutes. I open it back up to a blank screen which I need to then stand by and awake.

Is there any way of fixing this? Bios? Something?

I got the same problem, but when i close the lid, and then reopen it it goes on...it's not a big deal, but it's annoying... maybe I'll try the fix?!
