If you're looking for a desktop replacement and don't care about battery life; probably either a Sager 5690 or a Ferrari 3200.

If we are talking below $2000, then both the Acer and Sager are really close to that price.

If you want to save some bucks, but still get a good gaming and graphics system, I would suggest the eMachines M6809 or an HP CTO in the zd7000 series. The eMachines M6809 is going to give you the best bang for your buck, with an Athlon 64 3200+, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB hard drive, multiformat DVD burner, and an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 w/ 64 MB VRAM. It costs only $1549 after mail-in rebates (Voodoo uses the exact same shells (with upgraded internal components) as the basis for their M680 series, priced at well over $3,000, if you were worried about quality).

The zd7000 I configured uses an Intel 3.06 ghz P4 with 512 MB RAM (one chip), DVD+RW, 60 GB hard drive (5400 RPM), and the excellent nVidia Go5700 w/ 64 MB VRAM. It has a huge 17" screen, all for a tad under $1900.

Just giving you some ideas. Good luck.
