I am going to be going to college next year, and am looking forward for a good gaming laptop without the high costs of alienware. I am trying to decide between hypersonic and sager. So far I like the CX5 from hypersonic, and the Sager 5690 C. They are both around $1700, and have ATI Radeon 9700 graphic cards. The main difference between them is that the Sager comes with a pentium 4 3.0 Gz processor, while the hypersonic comes with a 1.7 Ghz. pentium-M processor. Which processor is better for gaming? Which laptop would you choose? Also, does either of these companies support user upgradable graphic cards like Alienware does? Thanks for the help.

Ok so I have been reading a few more posts and have since been looking at the Dell Inspiron 9100. It has a 2.8 Ghz processor, and I would probably upgrade to the ATI Radeon 9700 for $99. It would cost around $1450 with the $150 online rebate that dell is offering right now. So now my choices are between hypersonic, Sager, or Dell. Any advice?

The p4 is the better gaming chip, although a 1.7mobile would work fairly well. Personally I prefer Sager to Dell, but that may just be me.

Just FYI, the Sager 5690 is identical to the Hypersonic Aviator GX6. I think the Hypersonic CX5 is a Compal CL56.
The UXGA screen on the 5690/GX6 is supposed to be much nicer than the SXGA on the CL56. The gamin performance is better as well. On the other hand, the batter life is exponentially better on the XL56.
As for the 9100, that is a HUGE machine; and they've had significant problems with some of the screens they have shipped with it.
