I'm going with either
EX model because of 2 gb ram option and Nvidia GPU (My fav was SX but, Integrated video scared me off for 3d modeling)
MX its a sweet machine too tough decision
Which would be best for
Office 2003 internet surfing and game design programming 3d modeling
Thanks

lafguy,
This is my opinion only based on my research on these forums, and the Portable One website, along with Asus and Clevo websites, so please take this with a grain of salt. I don't own either, and I've not seen either laptop, (as P1 models or as Asus or Clevo models either) But I came very close to ordering the UX recently.
In looking at the SX and UX online, I felt that the UX was a better built, higher quality, laptop. In terms of the computing platforms, they can come with almost identical CPU, RAM, HDD, etc. So in terms of what you want to use them for they both should work well. Maybe you could use the slightly larger screen of the SX, although right now you can get a Core 2 Duo in the UX only, and the UX supports slightly larger RAM capacity at 2gb versus the SX's 1.5gb.
Finally, because you mentioned as your last requirement is 3d modeling, you may want to reconsider your options to include the MX as well. The reason I say this is because both SX and UX use the Intel integrated graphics processor, as opposed to the nVidia GPU used in the MX. You would not notice so much between and Intel and nVidia GPU, doing office stuff, internet surfing and maybe not even during game design programming. But you would notice a difference with 3d modeling, and certainly during game playing.
Good Luck..
BTW, I did recently order the new MX-A8JS, because I wanted the faster GPU. Otherwise I would have ordered the UX. I really like the form factor and build quality of that unit.. -
I'm deciding between EX and MX
Which gets better battery life on max resolution? -
The EX can achieve better battery life since it comes with a 9 Cell battery and has a smaller GPU. The MX has a higher resolution LCD, i.e. 1440 x 900 WXGA+, so if your doing 3D modeling the higher resolution display may be more beneficial for you.
Help me decide
