hi guys, my first post here, so hello.

i have this laptop, i got it awhile ago for pennys but its not a make ive ever heard off lol

anyway, my problem is. one day i went to put it on and the screen didnt comeone. so turned it off and on again and it came back. also if i had the mains pluged in and i moved it, it would restart. that three days ago i noticed that and have been on it since. this morning the screen doesnt come on at all. power light comes on but no flashing HDD. the dvdrom makes a couple of spins and fans etc come on, but as i say no flashing HDD and i cant put num lock or caps on, so think it has crashed at that point. anyideas?
If it was the screen wouldnt the HDD bootup normally??

    thx guys

Update: i was googling round and seems to be a comon prob with these laptops. so i pressed quite hard around the housing, restarted, and viola, it came back on. but i still need this fixed. any ideas what maybe loose??

I once had a Higrade notebook which had inverter problems which resulted in a blank screen although the computer otherwise booted normally (it spent the last few years of its life connected to an external monitor). Yours sounds as if it has a dodgy important connection which can be temporarily fixed by some pressure in the right place.

One problem which can stop computers booting is poorly seated RAM. Sometimes the contacts oxidise with time and this can be fixed by removing and replacing the RAM because the reinsertion cleans the contacts. It's worth a try.
