Right, I know that there is other topics that discuss this problem. But what Iv noticed the bouncing from Hibernating and immediate resume when shut down is that its caused by the DVD-station.
After testing all diffrent combinations of cables and switches, I came to the solution, that if you have the DVD-station closed when hibernating/shutting down it resumes/reboots no matter what other cables you have plugged in.
So Zepto officials, I think this is something you should investigate a bit in. I dont know if its the BIOS, the Samsung DVD station or some other that causes this. But there is a problem to be solved.
Btw, Iv been looking around in the BIOS a bit but really there isnt allmost anything there??Is there something im missing or is the BIOS just with pretty low options? (I have the 6625wd BIOS from the beginning of August (think it were some 004, not shure))

I don't knowingly have the DVD-station. In my case (6024W) I'm still sometimes getting bouncing out of hibernation. My fix is the reinstall the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and then everything is fine again for a few days.
However, I strongly suspect that there is BIOS bug which is triggered by Vista (I've had no problems with XP) and the bug gets reset / cleared by reinstalling the Matrix Storage Manager.
It's a little baffling that I can't find similar problems with other brands of notebooks.

I think that this is a Vista issue, as my desktop does the same thing; hibernates and then immediately resumes.
My 6625 has no problem in this regard but occasionally it stays in limbo when trying to resume; only a hard reboot fixes this.

wierd, cos it most likely bounces if i have it closed, but not if its open

Well, I seem to have some related problem: When I close the lid on my 6625 Vista is set to go to sleep and it does but after a while it turns on again and with the lid closed that can eventually cause some problems with heat, I suspect.

This problem is a little different to the computer which immediately wakes up after being hibernated.
I can think of two possible groups of causes for waking a sleeping computer:
(i) Check in Device Manager that all devices with power management properties have "Allow this device to wake the computer" deselected. These devices are likely to be network, modem and USB but there may be others.
(ii) Check the Task Scheduler to ensure that there is no task scheduled to run when the computer may be sleeping and allowed to wake the computer.

dont know what the task sheduler could do when it sometimes hibs/sometimes not.
I didnt go trough all the devices in device manager, but the most common (network, hdd, usb) -

I have also noticed my Adobe Acrobat wanting to be reactivated because it thinks I have changed my hardware configuration and I am starting to wonder whether there is any correlation between this and Vista bouncing out of hibernation. This is when the hardware configuration has not changed at all so the only change can be in whatever the BIOS is reporting to Vista.
Perhaps it is time for me to revert from 6x24W BIOS 005e to 004a and see if I still hit these problems.

I tried BIOS 004a but still had the problem of coming straight out of hibernation. This does not exclude something in the BIOS being the cause of the problem. It just shows that the something hasn't changed between 004a and 005e.
I have noticed sometimes the message "system configuration data" changed being displayed on the configuration screen which is very briefly displayed after the Zepto splash screen.

I went back to 6x24W BIOS 005e and then ran for 4 or 5 days without a reboot or any hibernation problems until a BSOD yesterday.
I hope that my problem with hibernation has cleared itself. If so, it must be related to the BIOS downgrade / upgrade.

right, I dun know what Iv done or even if Iv done anything, but now it mostly hibernates with the station closed. But I often have it open if I have a cd in it, cos I dont like it when it spins up again and again for nothing. But when its empty it mostly stays hibernated.
