Two things I would want more details on:

    1. What are the details of the warranty? For instance, is shipping included? What speed of shipping do they pay for if shipping is included. Is the warranty domestic? How do you access their tech support?

    2. What battery do they ship with the laptop? They show it with a 9-cell battery but the size and weight listed are too low for a 9-cell battery.

That's what comes to mind after a cursory reading of that page.

The ibuypower site itself seems to have it even cheaper I cant even seem to build an fl90 barebone with those specs for that cheap.

    For anyone interested:

I noticed that on the ibuypower site the video card is listed as having 256mb ram (the only option available) while on newegg it's said to have 512mb.

I almost pulled the trigger on this and canceled my order with xotic due to intel now having a shortage of T7300 and T7500 CPUs... it's been a wild ride.

The shortage is cause of price cut next week.

yeah and also the T7300 is supposedly being discontinued, the T7500 will take its place and new processors are coming out.

So, after all this waiting would it just be smarter to cancel the laptop and re-order? One more week and the price will be cheaper, and I could get a T7500 instead of a T7300.

    Friggin' a.

You don't have to cancel and re-order...just contact your reseller and they will make the change for you.

All orders that have the T7300 should be automatically upgraded to the T7500 at the same price next week.

The WXGA FL90 (VBI version) has 256MB video memory and the 6 cell battery and is of course cheaper than the WXGA IFL90 with 512MB video memory and the 9 cell battery. There are other differences as well like the fingerprint reader and the LCD cover.

Also, please protect yourself. Always check your reseller's Customer Satisfaction rating at www.resellerratings.com and read their warranty before you buy. There is usually a reason that some resellers are cheaper than others, and the few dollars you save is rarely worth it in the long run...but at least you will know what to expect if you go for the cheaper price.

That is excellent news. I just sent out an E-mail to the xoticPC sales team requesting that they hold off on shipping me anything for a week and upgrade me to the T7500. Hopefully Xotic will have the same policy as you guys have over at powernotebooks.

    Thanks for the info Donald.

Do you think it would be possible to ship my IFL90 back to xotic after the price cut and have them upgrade my processor to the T7500?

I doubt it unless you paid for it. They probably arent going to take back a processor and give you a cheaper one at the cost of their shipping, at least that's what I think. They are only being switched to 7500's now because of a shortage.

Guess i got lucky to miss the second shipment, besides having to wait another month or two :(

    Let's see, t7300 to a t7500. Isn't that like a whopping 0.2ghz speed upgrade. I'm glad I got mine when I did...whew! It sure is a sweet machine!

Anything for free is a good deal!

My response was meant to be light hearted, sometimes that gets lost in the written word.
    Free is good. :D

Laptop in hand is good. :D

I wouldn't mind the latter myself. It looks like we ordered an identical system, minus the HDD.

PS Badgers are playing a pretty close game against the Cougs today. :)
