    Hello!

I've read a lot of threads here, concerning the overheating of the HEL80,but nothing helps for me.

When i do nothing with the notebook the Temperatures are:

    CPU: ~59°C
    HD: ~50°C
    GPU: ~53°C

When i play games such as COD2 the Touchpad (and the notebook itself on the left side of the Touchpad) gets so hot that it hurts on my fingers

It shuts down after ~20minutes of playing with following Temperatures:

    CPU: 90°
    HD: 55°
    GPU: 79° (Not OC)

I Opened the CPU side behind of the laptop but there were not much dust. Should i unscrew the cpu fan?
The fan itself runs always in full speed wenn i play games and when i surf the web it is silent.

how i can "clean" the notebook, that it never gets so hot again?
    Thanks for your Time!

    PS: my Hardware:

    Core 2 Duo CPU T5500 @ 1.66GHz
    Geforce 7600GO 256mb

    I tried two "hardware" solutions:

    Zalman ZM-NC1000B
    - I have never looked back since I have this solution (and been lazy, have not cleaned my fan either).

    Check it out:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=235021
(NC2000(B), the NC1000B is smaller in size)

    *

    Thermaltake iXoft
    - Provides a decent 2 hours solution for use on your lap.

Is there another way instead of a hardware solution?

There are many tips on cleaning and cooling down your notebook at cooling central. Take a peak and if you need more help go ahead and post. There is also a coolers buyers guide at cooling central aswell as in my sig along side a Zalman NC2000 lid. Good luck!

What gain did you experience with the Zalman?

"Would you think the hel80 would fit better on the nc2000?"

I think the HEL80 fits very well on the NC1000(B) [It sticks out about a third of an inch of on the left and right sides, but in no way does that affect the stability of the laptop] and while the review states that the NC2000(B) fits in some backpacks, the NC2000(B) is still designed for 17" laptops whereas my backpack is for 15" laptops [I have one of these MobileEdge backpack, not sure which one], so there is an element of portability that needs to be considered.

I also appreciate the keyboard angle I get from the Zalman [Must be about 10 degree or so] which seems to have reduced the stress on my wrists.

"What gain did you experience with the Zalman?"

My computer went from crashing multiple times a day to once a month. I will try to download a program and see the numbers, any suggestions? [That being said, my apartment is very hot and I think I might have bought a " lemon", e.g. my laptop overheats easily]

Have you tried to clean inside the laptop?

That usually does it for me. Keep it an area with as little dust as possible with good ventilation.

    Hello,

Well, your temperatures are a little above normal. In my case I cleaned the vents and then put some Arctic Cooling MX-2, Zalman STG1, ect. on the processor (its actually quite easy).

You will see some difference, but still, it only gives you 3 to 5 degrees. I would advise you to check with your vendor.
