Hellloooo, i purchased a Zepto 6324W on Friday the 29th of June AM and was just wondering how long on average it takes from placing your order to actual delivery to your doorstep. It said 12 days on the website, however i've had a look around here and some people have said that the estimated days thingy (that comes up just before you place your order) is usually not accurate as some get theirs waaay faster, while others get theirs after the actual estimate. Could anyone (perhaps someone who has used Zepto a fair bit in the past so is familiar with their delivery service) tell me when they think i will realistically get mine? Oh i live in the UK by the way. Thanks!
-
I've been in such a delusion that the estimated date in Zepto's website means the day when your new shiny laptop leaves their factory.. So, in addition to that you have to wait for that shipping time.
I might be seriously wrong though.. -
I ordered on 1st June (6224W) and still waiting.

There's about a month of backorders afaik.

Thanks for the reply everyone. I'm a bit gutted at the fact that it will probably take a month (especially since my sister will be getting her brand new Sony Viao in like 2 days!!) but im sure it will be worth the wait in the end. Since they have so many orders too i guess that also means they must make real good quality laptops

Yeah, an order tracker of some sort would be a good idea, at least one that tells you if it has been built/dispatched would be ok as it might be perhaps too complex or maintenence intensive to have a system that tells you where exactly in the order process your laptop is. I actually thought that they had an order tracker before i made my purchase, appears that i was wrong tho. Oh and i have just realised that on my order confirmation it said shipment 3, any one have an idea when this shipment is due? (i suppose i should have stated this earlier)

To the people who wants to know more about when (aprox.) they should expect their laptop, please write [email protected] , at least until Iann is back from his holidays.
Remember to inform about telephone number or order number/invoice number when you write him, then they will know how to look up how far your order might have come in our system, or if there is some reason it hasn't been shipped yet.
saxdave, i wouldn't know if the production would be behind by then or if they would keep up by then. No one can tell. It all depends how well the assembly and testing of the machines go. -
Thanks for the contact Rene. Will ask towards the end of the week as i only made my order last week.

You can compare your orders to this: I ordered 31/5/2007 and it is now confirmed that the package will arrive July 5th or 6th.
-
ouch, that's a long time of waiting...
I ordered mine 3 days ago, it said on the site then delivery time 6 days. That was for a 6625WD, but seeing noone has received their 6625:s yet I shouldn't get my hopes up at seeing it anytime soon I suppose... -
mine said 25days (6224w), maybe you get it faster..that time means until they ship it. delivery can be 4-5 days depending your place of stay.
-
Thanks Rene.
Reading this, I'm considering bringing forward my order. I was going to wait till I come back from holiday, but maybe I should put in the order before I go away next week. -

We just received a new shipment of barebones today (which models i don't know exactly), but i know there where a lot of 6625WD barebones among them.
-
So what's the limiting factor? That you don't have the barebones or that you have streched your capacity for putting the laptops together? I ordered a 6625 on the 27´th of june and it had an estimated 2 weeks before it would ship. Now im reading rumours that there is at least one month of waiting before its shipped. Is this true?

The limiting factor has been delivery of barebones, which has resulted in a lot of backorders which is now being produced as we are receiving barebones at a regular interval at the moment.
I haven't heard any news about how long there is from the customer orders a machine until they receive them, but on some of our models there is a delivery time of about a month because of the delayed delivery on the initial shipment of barebones. As I also mentioned earlier, either in this topic or another, I don't know when the production will be up to speed with the orders so the delivery time will be back to normal, but they have been working from 6am to 10pm Monday to Friday since last week to get the machines produced as fast as possible with the components available in stock. -
I got an order confirmation yesterday, shipping date is 7th of july, then it should take 2-3 days to get here I think (I'm in sweden).
I specifically went with some parts that were not my first pick (such as a slot in dvd drive) to get the delivery time down...
Edit: All in all 10 days from order till I get it (if everything works as expected), that's a bearable waiting -
When did you place your order Aramaz?
Edit - Sorry, I obviously can't read!
Hope you get it when you're expecting it. -
Let's see, I ordered mine on the 18th of May, changed the order configuration on the 14th of June (because it still hadn't shipped). It's the 4th of July and I still haven't got my laptop :S
-
Tried contacting them? Maybe they've forgot about it? Happens all the time.

Did you change your order to something that is not in stock? What hard disk did you order? It should have been shipped a while ago. Only thing that i can think of is that a swedish keyboard is not available.

"I ordered mine on the 18th of May, it's the 4th of July and I still haven't got my laptop :S"
Wooow, thats nearly 7 weeks!!! If i have to wait that long i will probably lose my mind (my current computer is lousy and driving me nuts) How many days did it say it would take when you made your order? Out of curiosity what model was it too? Perhaps later modifying your order delayed it a little further (as it may have put you further back in the queue as it may have been put through as a new order all over again, maybe)
Anyway hopefully you get your laptop over the next few days -
Anyone heard from rj ([email protected]) recently? Been waiting a few days for a reply about my purchase :S...

Could a Danish speaker please translate this for me? (Zepto replied to my query in Danish for some odd reason) I used an online translator and it didnt sound to good, however it came out 80% fuzy so im not 100% with the email to be honest. If someone could please help i would be very grateful -
I dont speak danish, but swedish so my translation might not be precise.
Basically its saying your mail couldnt get delivered to the recipent. Microsoft exchange will continue to try to send the mail.
We will keep on trying until 06-07-2007 bla bla.... You will recieve an answer from MS exchange if the mail cannot be sent before the time above.
Something like that, so I guess it didnt go through? -
Maybe you mispelled the adress?
-
Thanks for the quick reply, i didnt know Swedish and Danish were mutually intelligible to that extent, thats pretty cool
Anyway because its in Danish i think i have got all confused as to what is what now.... basically it is not a reply from Zepto and it is merely a message from Microsoft saying that my query email has not actually been sent to Zepto and as a result it nots Zepto emailing me saying that they have had a problem in actually recieving my order? (which is what i thought it was [i always think thr worst], if it is from Microsoft the Microsoft Denmark postmasters email format is radically different for the UKs one and that with the Danish is what has thrown me off)
Argh
Hopefully it is all good now -
Yeah Thorne i think that is whats happened but... i did copy and paste the email address from Renes post above so its kind of strange that my message has bounced
-
Usually when i copy @mail-adresses from web i just click the right mouse button at the adress and select "copy adress", and only then paste it into the adress field in my @mail client.
Using your methods, copying from a forum and pasting it, the result may contain some html or java or whatever programming language stuff special marks, which though you can't see. That could be a reason why the adress possibly was wrong. It's happened to me a couple of times. -
Before you send another order, call zepto and make sure that the first one didn't go through!

Thanks for the tips so far everyone. It appears that the email did manage to go through in the end and i have just recieved an email stating that my laptop is in production and should ship Monday and arive mid next week
. If thats the case it appears that they have managed to take care of that huge back log of orders pretty impressively. DIGev, i'd imagine this means you should definately get your laptop sometime very soon (assuming it hasnt arrived since you last posted) if you dont i suggest that you send them another email as it would be pretty unfair if i got my laptop before you did (you would have been waiting nearly 9 weeks after all as opposed to my 2!)

Well the production did manage to produce 200 machines Monday or Tuesday (on one of those days alone).
How long for 6324W
