Does anyone have a restore disk for the 3715 -- or know of one posted somewhere online?

Probably some stupid registry error, but I cannot get my machine to boot into XP. Can't get into Safe Mode even.

Since the "recovery disk" was included on a hard drive partition on this machine (instead of being on a physical disk) and is accessed through a Phoenix program that is on the desktop once Windows loads, I'm really puzzled as to how I'm supposed to recover this machine if I can't boot Windows?

    Ideas?

    Thanks,
    kwc

According to the instructions on the Phoenix Firstware software that Averatec installed on your machine along with the install image. It is supposed to be able to work without Windows. According to them (Phoenix), you need to push ALT on the first CMOS screen when you first power up. Like the CMOS (F2) and Windows Safe mode I believe F8, push ALT during this process brings up the restore software.

Their instructions do say that ALT is usually the key of choice by the hardware vendor but it could be something else. If ALT doesn't work, call Averatec tech support to get more info on the Firstware backup program.

Do be aware that if you do have to restore it back to when you bought it, all programs you've loaded since then will probably be gone.

When booting up, press F4 to access Recovey Option if your hard drive has a hidden partition which stores factory images.

However, recovery won't help if you have a bad hard drive.
