    Please help!

My CPU fan is intermittently failing. (Upon start I have to blow into the fan opening to get the fan spinning). I want to replace the fan/heatpipe/heatsink assembly.

How do I open the laptop to do this? I believe it is not enough to remove the small back cover, but maybe I have to remove the whole back cover.

Anyone has some kind of instructions?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Peter

first you must know that the fan heatsink assembly is not as easily found as you would think i couldnt find a replacment so i replaced only the fan by taking apart another fan and just replacing the motor but leaving the the same mount and heatsink. as for getting to it it is not difficult but yes you will need to do more then just the small door giving access to the ram. a bit of common sense and once you get past the first one way fastener it all just comes apart easily. getting the first one way fastener to break free is the only hard part but you cant really mess it up if you are careful. http://www.flickr.com/photos/iblastoff/sets/72157601966057710/
