just received my MateBook 13 - thought we could open a thread for the MateBook 13 because I didn t see one

    mine is an i7 10512U 16/512 touchscreen - was on sale 1000E in France ( https://www.dealabs.com/bons-plans/...0-tactile-i7-16go-ram-512go-ssd-mx250-1894265 )

I like it because it's compact (I like 3/2 screen ratio for web surfing) and cute

a little disappointed that I can't undervolt it because of the bios fix against the plundervolt threat (
    https://www.reddit.com/r/MatebookXP...new_intel_security_fix_going_to_kill/ft78pha/ ) though ...

I have the Matebook D 2020 (AMD model). Also cannot undervolt it (apparently non Linux it’s possible, but I’m not literate enough to do that). How are the fans on you machine? Can you alter fan curves?

fans are mostly silent when on batteries

running on DC they come up more often and do a little noise that is OK ... once it did a more annoying louder noise but it disappeared ... I use the battery power profile even when I am on DC, it seems to me that the fans come up less often ...

I don't know how to alter fan curves ... how can I do that ?

how are the fans on your Matebook D 2020 (AMD model) ?

At least on the Matebook D you can't alter fan curves. which kick in when browsing the web, which is annoying. I actually returned mine because the fans were annoying me.

too bad I broke the screen (top right corner) .. the screen cover has a little bump near the top right corner ... the screen has a long thin crack going from the bottom right corner to the top right corner ..
still usable but the mouse-touchpad/touchscreen doesn't seem to work when the mouse is near the top right corner ... I have desactivated the touchscreen and now the mouse works fine again ...

my bag fell from a seat (so not so high) ... I forgot to put it in its protective pouch (a quite nice and protective Domiso pouch I bought on aliexpress)

I wish they have made it stronger ...

looks like it s possible to find a screen replacement : https://www.reddit.com/r/MatebookXP...tebook_13_2020_i7_touchscreen_screen/fxjlgx2/
    (without the aluminium cover)

my younger brother says it s quite hard to replace but it's easier if I find a screen with its aluminium cover ...
