I'm not sure it's my sons computer and it's I think an FL92 or FL90 anyway this was bought a little over a year ago the bios is 116 and it just started developing a overheating issue, he tells me it keeps shutting down and it gets very hot, I just read the other post here with the HEL 80 this sounds about the same like problems, is there any software where I could determin whats causing this ?

its an IFL 90 I just checked

Since it only started recently, if it's easy to open it up, you might want to check if the vents/fan are clogged with dust and then clean them with a vacuum or something. It may help your problem.

Open the cpu bay and clean the vents. They are probably clogged.

Hey, At first I just opened the bay and tried a little air and didn't see to much come out then I closed it up and went back to it later to see if anyone left any other ideas up, so after reading thius again I went to youtube and checked out the video here> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LP5vyxXjHuo&feature=related

and then took out the fan unit and heat bar cpu cooler, cleaned the cpu off and put some new compound on it and then I seen alot of dirt that I didn't see the first time in the fan unit and aired it out put back, I think that should do it but I have to wait for my son to get back because he puts a password in to get into this compal LOL but I think it should be good if not I'll be back.

    Thanks!
