I have a znote 3415w. I just ran a fedora core 8 live cd on it and did a memory test before booting fedora core but the computer restarted. Now when i turn on the computer the power lights come on but the screen is blank. The bios doesn't even show

    Please help.

Could it be that the ram got messed up, If so because the laptops under warranty will i have to send the whole laptop back to zepto or just the rams sticks.

have you tried removing all power sources? ie: disconnecting it from the mains
and taking the battery out. Might be a simple lock up of the hardware.

alot of time zeptos laptops seem to have an error with if it crashes, it wont startup again unless your disconnect the power supply cable, turn it on, and then you can put the power back in safely... my girlfriends 6214 does that. :/

If you think the ram got messed up try taking the ram out. The computer should still "POST" without it but should just hang there.

It sounds like I may be having related issues. I'm using a 6625wd and had
random failed-boots. Because I was using a hybrid drive and had other
drive-related problems, zepto swapped out the drive for a normal SATA
    drive.

Unfortunately the random failed-boots still occur. Mostly it seems after the
bios but occasionally before. Though I don't have any solutions, perhaps
this added information/occurance might help. It's worth noting that usually
after 2 failed boots in a row, I would undock (no power otherwise) the
laptop and the computer would boot fine.

If memory is a culprit, is a recommended way of testing memory via Zepto?
    Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

    Thanks!

Downloaded it, burned it, ran it...
However sometime around 75-80% the computer shutdown during
the testing process. The computer was quite hot, as hot as I've
ever remembered it being. Is this normal?! :)

UPDATE: After attaching a cooler to laptop, I re-ran check, all ok it seens.

Extra cooling during Memest should not be neccesary. Have you checked your fan for dust recently?

If there are no dust in the cooler, and it still shutdown during Memtest, something is wrong with your 6625, and it should be sent in for service.

Thanks for the feedback, fan is clean. Looks like it will likely go back to
    servicing, again.

This is so wierd, I mean Iv done some hard stuff with my lappy and had it in extreme conditions running (startup in -5C room/really moist room) and still I have no signs of any hardware problems (exept for some BETA-BIOS-related stuff)

Keyboard is fine (quite good in fact comparing to 2 other laptops there is in the house (2 acers)), runs games really good, processor (T7100 1.8GHz) is capable of heavy tasks like 3d editing and compressing and much more. Only complaint is the DVD-station wich is quite loud, but with emulating software (Daemon tools) you get rid of that problem (tho its not even near as loud as the acer one in the house, it causes the whole screen and everything to make sounds :D ).
