here are a couple pics of the IFL-90S (the high res screen, matte) from zipzoomfly. be patient- it make a few minutes for me to get them up!

i apologize for the poor quality- i will try to post some better ones as time allows. this gives the basic idea.

edit- added pic of the zipzoomfly skin. it is not actually on the computer- so the white around the edges would not be there if you actually put this on.

Just a few questions... did you build the laptop yourself? If yes, did the DVD-Rom come with the IFL90S barebone? Any other components come with the "barebone"? Did you order all the hardware from ZZF? What was the final tally (minus OS)? What's your overall impression of the screen? How long did it take to get all your components?

Sorry for all the Q's... thinking about building one myself so just wanted to get all the info beforehand.

    Thanks

Sweet looking beside the hole for the logo.... Anyone know where to find something to cover that up?

You could get a sticker... but for something that is actually made for it, no idea. :)

built it myself. yes. i installed the hard drive, wireless, ram, and the processor.

dvd rom came with the barebones.

no bluetooth in the barebone. came with 9 cell battery- i think the lower res model (ifl-90) comes with the 6 cell.

i ordered the base config from zzf. then i got a 2 GB ram dimm and a 160 GB hitachi hard drive from newegg. i will put the 60 GB hard drive in a case for an external hard drive.

    about 1300$ without OS.

when i first got the screen, i was a bit disappointed, but have come around. it has no lightbleed, good colors, decent brightness. a slight bit of grain, but acceptable. it is a CMO1505 LCD. i believe the LG screen is even better- no grain like this one.

it took 3 days for both orders (zzf and newegg) to arrive. ordered at 10 pm on tuesday, and arrived friday afternoon.

The only two vendors that I know of that offer a higher resolution glossy screen is PowerNotebooks and XoticPC. I beleive they offer the 1440x900 glossy screen.

Also, to the original poster, how thick is the notebook when it is closed? Can you give me an exact measurement if you can?

garetjax- it is wsxga+ matte from zipzoomfly. i think powernotebooks and xoticpc may have the wsxga+ as well, you could call and find out.

    dimensions;
    (WidthxDepthxHeight): 13.98 x 10.12 x 1.48 inch

ayle- i used the 2 day shipping. about 10 bucks, i think.

ZipZoomFly includes a laptop "skin" to place on the top lid of the laptop. It's large, covers most of the lid, and has "ZIPZOOMFLY.COM" printed on it in a 'crumbling-letters' typeface.

According to the skinit website these skins are supposed to be easily removed, so I decided to use it. It's not bad, and it provides scratch protection for the lid. Certainly better than paying skinit $20 or $30 for an alternative 'skin' (aka "large, heavyweight sticker").

You mean from Zipzoomfly? I ordered mine yesterday and it's still there as processing. I can still see the order status though... I choose Fed-Ex overnight by the way.

EDIT: I made a mistake in my personal infos so they couldn't contact me to confirm the order... Wich mean that I'll receive my fl90 friday.
