When playing a game, Kill-a-Watt says the AC Adapter is drawing 95W!!! That's with the batteries charging, playing GoW, and screen on max brightness. And not only that, my CPU's voltages are already lowered using RM Clock. Can't imagine if I didn't do that...

Lowering the screen's brightness did not lower the power consumption, which leads me to believe that the adapter is being maxed out.

The AC Adapter is also super hot during this state.

Is the included 90W adapter not enough to power our beloved IFL90?

The 90W is the output power rating. The input power will depend on the PSU efficiency (which varies according to PSU quality) and the difference between input and output is emitted as heat. I don't know what typical PSU efficiencies are, but if it's 80% then, out of 95W, 76W is going to the notebook and 14W will be heat.

It does seem like the laptop is maxing out the AC adapter when playing a game. I wonder if it had free reign, how much power does the laptop really eat up when used full tilt.

you could try a i-go aftermarket psu. the model everywhere 130 supplies 130 watts, it should have the end you need included i think it has 5-8 ends that come with it. i use their lower end model for a few of our office laptops and they work great.

    Hmm interesting.

I've kept my battery in a drawer while my NP2090 sits on my desk, plugged in the AC adapter, and played BF2 without the fans even revving up. I've really enjoyed how quiet it runs. I've never heard about Kill-A-Watt till now and the power brick sits underneath my desk (my feet haven't gotten hot either... :p), so I dunno.

Might be something to do on a slow weekend or something.
