Works great, issue with AHCI solved.
NVIDIA 8600M GT512 is running slight quicker, just by BIOS update no driver update still use the 156.65 driver from the compal website.

Does this mean that 1.13 is compatible with SLP 2.0? And what CPU does CPU ID 10674 support?

If I make the bootable image, it can do flash automatically, then you won't need a guide.
All you need to do is burn the iso file.

Please boot up using this CD to flash.
Make sure you have AC adapter hooked up, or full battery charge.

WARNING!! THIS CD IS INTENDED TO BE USED ON IFL90/FL90/NP2090!!
PLEASE USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!

    1. Unzip the compressed file (Software available at www.7-zip.org)
    2. Use your favorite burning software to burn the ISO file.
    3. Boot up using F12 key to select CD/DVD to boot.
    4. Let it flash, once it completes the PC reboot.

    Download ISO

skitpt, that was my first try.
The notebook was not able to boot it up, unfortunately.

You can burn it onto a CD-RW, so you wouldn't waste a CD.

P.S. This is about the USB Pen Drive, the CD is fine. And if you only have blank DVD and need a DVD version... let me know.

??? Just burn the IFT00113.ISO file to a bootable cd ??? ( using NERO )

Will it auto run on boot up ???

Don't mean to seem ignorant I'm only used to flashing with FDD.

No, if you just copy the file over it won't boot.

In fact, the iso emulates as a FDD boot-disk.

I am also used to DOS flasher this is why this method is safest.

If you use CD-RW, make sure you format it with FULL-ERASE to provide better integrity.

WinFlasher is sometimes dangerous. (never really felt safe with it and broke several motherboards before using manufacturer's own tool)

goke313 if you're using rewritable CD/DVD you can use masterbw's bootable CD ISO image file just use any burning program you like to burn the ISO file. I hereby confirm that ISO file created by masterbw is working because I tried it and it worked.

If you're going by USB pen method here's shameless link to my guide
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=2479376&postcount=8
just follow the instruction and you're set.

Sounds great! can we use the CD as a template? Like if a new BIOS comes out, can we just replace the old file with the new on the CD using something like PowerISO or MagicISO?

be sure to include older bios inside too in case of bios writing failure occur you should have a shot to go back to older bios.

I take it that the Crisis Tool will not work with a CD, though - it will still require you to have a USB FD drive? Seems to be a very low-level recovery code (something that runs even before the BIOS gets loaded).

I think that's exactly what happened to my experiment with my USB flash drive.
I have used boot tools (HP, mkbt) trying to enable boot sector on the flash drive but I kept on getting corrupted FAT.

That's why I got nervous to flash my system with it. Say I am traditional, but I just don't felt safe with failed experiment. I believe only some Flash Drives would work and some wouldn't.

Therefore, I would highly recommend the use of bootable CD.

RLM ---> Please check out the other thread that talks about BIOS recovery.

Regularly I am flashing BIOS by running IFT00113.BAT in DOS.
Should I type this whole line as discribed in this .ppt file
    PHLASH16 BIOS.WPH/X /MODE=3

    And what is X there?

    the batch file IFT00113.bat runs the whole command "PHLASH16 IFT00113.WPH /x /mode=3"

the /x is there to ignore xms memory manager check.

Running the batch file is all you need to do.

The /mode=3 parameter will over write the old DMI data.

EDIT: You can find out what else phlash does by typing "phlash /?" in DOS mode.

And what will happen if I will use the /PF=SLP2 parameter as discribed in CmdLine.ppt example?

I tried to flash my bios with the Bootable CD in this thread and I followed all the instructions. It was going fine when all of a sudden when the flashing go to D a green box appeared for a split second and the computer turned off. I'm not getting the black screen like other people, instead my computer tries to turn on and when it gets to the Windows Vista loading screen it gives me the Blue Screen of Death for a split second and restarts. I tried to boot from Windows Vista DVD to Repair and I tried to flash it again with the same result (Turned off after 0123456789ABCD right after a green box opened up)

Any help would be appreciated :(

This BIOS is default set to use Native SATA support, and you system was installed without it. Simple turn it of by entering BIOS Setup (F2).

    my update is very easy.
    Download Active Kill Disk tool.
RUn the setup, make a USB-STICK bootable with the tool.
Download the latest bios, unzip the folder copy the folder to the usb stick.
Power down the notebook, turn the notebook on, with the USBSTICK connected to the right side USB port.
press F12 run the stick, exit the Active kill disk utility.
open the folder en run the file named IFLxxxxxx.xxx the update is done easy and clean.
