Doing this by USB-Stick is easy and save.
The only part is to get the Stick bootable, but this is easy to do by the software tool Active Kill Disk.
Make sure turn off the notebook, or the USB-Stick isn't detected in the boot option.

Yes. But a lot of people here prefer convenience.
They only need to burn one CD and boot from it to flash the PC thus saving them lots of hassles.

The BIOS CD is one-step, ready-to-use simple solution.

Thanks masterbw, your ISO made the BIOS flash pretty easy. I'd have to agree that if Flash Drives aren't as easy as the CD (in that you simply burn it to disk), then the ISO would be more convenient. :)

Does this BIOS update include all the previous ones? I have never updated my notebook (IFL90) BIOS before and I have just controlled that I am using version 1.10.

So far I have encountered with these problems.

    1. Quite often BIOS will simply hang-up with the Phoniex boot logo. It will respond to pressing of F2 and F12 buttons but will not load anything. This is the most annoying bug.

    2. After failed start in above mentioned scenario notebook will load twice.

    3. Touchsensitive buttons are functional in Windows Vista except that mute/unmute led indication is not working. It works correctly in Windows XP.

Can anyone provide me with the information if there are fixes for aforementioned problems in available BIOS updates?

    Thanks in advance.

Snocker, not sure when you select boot from disk, what disk?
You should select CD-ROM to boot from the CD.

Perhaps your notebook did not detect any CD and then skipped to your network adapter.

Once you flash the bios, do you have to re-load any drivers or anything or does windows just boot up as usual (assuming the flash went ok)
