    Hi All,

I was hoping someone could please help me with this issue that just started (seemingly out of nowhere). I rebooted my computer (I have dual boot Ubuntu and Vista 64 bit) and the keyboard stopped working. It is a IFL90/sager2090 laptop. Even pressing F2 to enter the setup before booting into any operating systems, fails. Anyone have any idea how I can get the keyboard running again? Oddly, my USB keyboard works well. I've tried unplugging it, plugging it in again, but to no avail. Please help, I'd really appreciate it.

Try checking the keyboard connection. Pop the quick launch panel, check if there are any screw to remove the keyboard and just lift if the unlock it and try reseating the cable.

Hey thanks for the reply! - is there some sort of guide for removing the keyboard or the quick launch panel? I just want to make sure that I don't break things further. Thanks.

    Yeah, check this thread:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=144625
Section 1.5 of the PDF deals with the keyboard If you cant lift up the strip cover/quick launch panel with your nails or finger, try a small flat head screwdriver or credit/gift card(my choice since you will less likely scratch your laptop) to pry it up so you can grab it.

Thanks for the tip. I checked the connections and all seems. well. Any ideas? Could ubuntu have something to do with this? I don't know. The keyboard doesn't work in either operating system, nor does it respond when trying to enter the bios. Do you think this is hardware related? And if so, would a replacement keyboard help?

    Thanks again.

Ubuntu doesn't have the power to physically damage your hardware...
