Hi,
I just purchased a barebone compal IFL90, installed all the necessary components, and installed a fresh copy of Vista 32 bit edition. Although I think my specs are pretty good, my vista performance scores (taken after installing all necessary drivers) seem a bit low.
My specs are:
- Intel Core 2 Duo t7300
- Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT 512mb
- 2gb Kingston RAM
- 100gb, 7200 rpm, Hitachi HD
My vista performance scores are:
- Processor: 4.9
- RAM: 4.8
- Graphics: 4.6
- Gaming Graphics: 5.2
- Primary Hard Disc: 4.5
I guess the processor and RAM scores are reasonable, but the graphics and hard disc scores seem to be extremely low for the hardware I have installed. If anybody else has an IFL90 with similar specs, or knows what might be causing my low scores, please let me know.
Thanks!

Vista performance scores don't mean anything. Ignore it.

Seems similar to the specs I got with a epto review machine which had almost exactly the same hardware.
-
Yeah that sounds pretty similar to what others got with similar specs. What are you comparing it to that makes you think the scores are low?
-
Graphics is where it is suppose to be. Hard drive seems ok too.

Well, I just ran a 3dmark06 test and got a score of 2795. This wories me becuase I just read another thread (it wont let me post links), where someone with specs similar to mine got a 3400 in 3dmark06. Also, when I run cpu-z, it says that the core speed of my cpu is 789 mhz (although it will occasionally fluctuate) and it will not let me switch between both cpu cores. I'm definately not a computer expert, but I have a feeling something is wrong with my setup. I have attached a picture of cpu-z and would appreciate any help.
Thanks!Attached Files:

"Santa Rosa platform come with dynamic acceleration technology. It allows single threaded applications to execute faster. When a single threaded application is running the CPU can turn off one of the CPU cores and overclock the active core. In this way the CPU maintains the same Thermal Profile as it would when both cores are active. Many expect Santa Rosa to perform well as a mobile gaming platform due to its ability to switch between single threaded and multithreaded tasks. Other power savings come from an Enhanced Sleep state where both the CPU cores and the chipset will power down."

The low clock is normal, the computer automatically clocks lower when nothing is going on, and back to normal when being used in order to save battery.
The 3400 was either on a lower resolution, or was overclocked (or both) -
Ok, thanks for the info guys. If anyone else has an IFL90 and could pm we with their 3dmark06 score, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Is that a pre-configured system or a barebone you've built? -

Will adjust my profile for more details.
My specs are okay, the system isn't tweaked or just or runnig with special settings just the drivers/aps from marasst. -
Does the CPU affect the 3dmark-scores? Or is it mainly because people run the test on different resolutions that i can read results from 2700 up to 3700marks on this forum?

i would like to see someone with the same result or with the same settings and compare.
Please feel free to aks and join.
Keep in mind the score 3800 is the limit for this notebook. -
which is the latest forceware driver that you used
-
Nvidia Forceware 101.34
-
Fyi, the windows rating goes from 1-5.9. So a 4.5 is up there.
-
Microsoft is nuts... 5.9 is what they make the ending talk about confusing.
