Hello everyone,
I was just formatting my laptop today, so i went to the compal site and downloaded all the drivers, after the vista install i started out by installing the drivers before anything else, no av no updates.
I installed everything on the same order as the compal site but i always get stuck on the turbo memory driver which automatically gives me a BSOD with IRQL less or not equal. I am using the latest bios 1.15 and trying to install the 1.01.1004 version of the turbo memory driver.
Am i doing something wrong here ?
Someone please help me out here!
Thanks

Latest bios is 1.16 but it's for JFL if I am correct, still works on IFL. Might want to try that.
-
Just did the update to the 1.16 bios, after another clean vista install, then installed everything again, same thing, turbo memory starts installing but then i get a BSOD.
I wonder why this is happening, 1.16 bios and a clean vista install, can it be because i install every driver from a usb pen ? Should i copy them all to the hard disk and then install ? -
Do you have turbo memory?
-
You can try that, but I don't quite see how you get bsod that way.... have you tried installing in safe mode?
-
Install in vista safe mode ? Both the chipset and the turbo memory ?
Yes i have turbo memory. Heres the thing, i already had installed it one time, no problem, but i remember the version i used before was 1.0.1001 or something like that. Guess i have to go hunting for that version.
Well i am going to format again.
Once its done, the first thing i will do is install the chipset in the safe mode and from the hard disk, install all other stuff in the ... "normal mode" and then when it comes to robson memory safe mode again.
Thanks everyone. -
Went fine. I found the 1.0.1001 driver and installed it in safe mode. All good.
Should i try the latest version of the maxtrix storage manager ? and turbo memory (1.5.. ) ? -
I would as well.
-
Is AHCI enabled in bios?
-
Yes, i have AHCI enabled. I haven't tried the latest versions of the turbo memory or the matrix storage manager but i intend to.
-
The BSOD is caused because the Intel Turbo Memory drive is having issues with the Nvidia cache memory, this will be detected as a removable device.
When installing the Turbo memory software you will get the BSOD, but just install it again and everything is solved then. -
Hi RePaRaQu, long time not seen. Why is it a conflct? I thought speedboost involved the turbo memory and the cache in the HDD.

Hello everyone,
Here's the current situation, i formatted the laptop, installed the chipset software, then audio etc and then for installing the turbo memory i changed to safe mode, everything went just fine and this was with the latest version of the driver. Installed sp1 and all updates, everything was ok.
Then i went to safe mode again to install the matrix storage manager everything was ok but when i rebooted to normal mode again there was no turbomemory console wen to the device list and turbomemory was there.
This is weird!
So the best solution is to install the versions on the compal site for the chipset and 1004 for the turbo memory twice ? Am i wrong ?
Btw, just got a BSOD "stop 0x0...8086" and my friend google told me it was because of the turbo memory / matrix storage! These things dont work well together ?
Edit: Just heard that disabling the hybrid disk mode should work.
If i am using the latest verions of both, i have no turbo memory console.
If i use the compal site versions, i get the bsod from time to time when using the battery.
Damn, its getting hard to get this thing rock solid! -
Not at all, they actually work together.
-
So how the hell installing the new matrix storage manager driver from intel removes turbo memory console ? And installing turbo memory after matrix storage it downgrades it ?
What should i do ? Install everything like in the compal ? All those versions exactly ? -
Maybe i should just format vista, install evertyhing as compal wants, but install the turbo memory in safe mode.
I guess updating matrix storage manager after installing the 1004 turbo memory driver maybe memory turbo console wont disappear. -
How much memory you have anyway?
If you have over 2GB of RAM, no really need for turbo memory. -
@ skitpt,
My solution which is tested more then once is like this.
Install Vista.
Install update's for Vista
Install Drivers: Chipset, VGA, AUDIO, TURBO MEMORY and the rest of the drivers/software applications.
Install the latest Chipset drivers form the Intel website.
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=816&lang=eng
Download the latest Turbo Memory driver from the intel website.
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2813&lang=eng
DON"T INSTALL THE INTEL MATRIX STORAGE MANAGER, THIS IS NOT NEEDED.
IT WILL BE INSTALL BY THE TURBO MEMORY DRIVER/SOFTWARE.
When receiving a BSOD when installing the Turbo Memory driver/software application just reinstall it again after the crash/BSOD is recovered.
Then continue the installation process.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!! -

Because the software which is installed is desigend to work with the Turbo Memory module.
The version which can be installed apart from the Turbo Memory module is a different version which is not desigend to work with the Turbo Memory.
That's why i said don't install it, just install the Turbo Memory driver this will not ask you to install the storage memory software. -
-
That worked great, i just installed the chipset software, i couldnt get it on the intel site, it says its no longe available so i downloaded it from the bizcom site. then i installed the turbo memory drivers from intel site, the latest ones.
Everything went ok. No bsod's, nothing. I just didnt upgrade matrix storage manager.
