Hi,
I just got my IFL90 yesterday with Windows Vista 32 running on it.
I got all buttons working except the Power USB / Q-Charging Buttons on the left hand side of the notebook.
What exactly does these buttons do and how can I tell they are working??
The manual doesn't give much information.
Thanks![]()

i would like to know too

I think the USB power button gives power to the USB ports even when the laptop is turned off. Good for chargeing mp3 players.
-
i dont find any drivers for that :/
-
have you tried using it? the q charge button works with smart battery. if you set the battery to only charge to 50/75 percent pressing the button will charge the battery the rest of the way.
-
What is the benefit of only charging to 50/75%
-
it will extend the life of the battery or so i have read.
-
To charge to 50% is ideal for storing your laptop battery for later use.

I know that some battery types are better at being partly recharged than others. -
Any one that can confirm the function of Power USB button? I tried to plug in a USB 2GB key when the notebook was powered off. The LED on the USB key didn't light up.
I am sorry but I don't have any other usb devices to test with except my mouse. -
It's intended for power hungry devices and charging w/o turning on...USB Key does not match either of those cases. You shoud use an ipod, cel phone for charging or an external USB powered HDD....
I am still waiting for mine..... -
"Avoid frequent full discharges because this puts additional strain on the battery. Several partial discharges with frequent recharges are better for lithium-ion than one deep one. Recharging a partially charged lithium-ion does not cause harm because there is no memory. (In this respect, lithium-ion differs from nickel-based batteries.) Short battery life in a laptop is mainly cause by heat rather than charge / discharge patterns."
