I'am wondering if someone already have this notebook. Then could you tell me something about IFL90 quality (build, screen - especially 1280x800 resolution screen, keyboard, noise and heat issues etc.)?

I doubt anyone has them yet since just about everyone has pused back their ETA Dates a couple of weeks. However if the HEL80 is any indication I think they will be built pretty well, I would compare them favorably quality wise to any of the business level laptops from the name brand companys.

So you would compare it to something like the HP NC8430 or Dell Latitude 820? Are Compal laptops really that solid?

Compals in general are very durable machines. They are not business class machines since they lack magnisum alloy chassis, shock mounted hdd, ect but they are imo probably one of the closest things to a business class with out going into that category. Also they have very good support(most resellers offer a 3 year warranty standard with domestic lifetime tech support)

Plus Compals have a very good price vs performance ratio.

Well that may be, whether it is or not I don't know for these specific companies. However, the one thing these companies actually do build is the casing. lol

ejl is correct. Compal designs the chassis or what is commonly referred to as the barebone. Companies like Xotic PC, PowerNotebook, Dell, etc customize the machine after it is received from the ODM. Compal is one of the top ODM's in the market. Here is a good read on ODM's
