I installed Deluo GPS serial to USB and MS Streets & Trips and worked right away. Now I can put my IFL90 in my car and use it as a GPS, I guess I can go as far as 4h :D :D :D

GPS is great on a laptop, but is really made redundant for many people these days who own a stand-alone GPS receiver or smartphone.

I do have a nice GPS on my Jeep, it is true, but not in my 1997 Intrepid. Smartphones and other PDA's are very small to see anything well and I'm not sure if you can get voice guidance. I'm not planning to use my IFL90 as a GPS but who knows perhaps in a very specific occasion I may need it, like let's say you are traveling and your car GPS doesn't work, or let's say you are in another country and you rented a car without a GPS..............

I don't know but I find is cool to see my IFL90 acting as a GPS.

I used a dell 600m celeron 1.4 cpu notebook and a usb GPS unit with Microsoft S&T with a power inverta for a couple of yrs. in the TRI state area and it worked great , its the best for break'en in a CPU, IMO better then any cpu burn in application I've used , going to do it with my new FL90 shipped from AVA and soon to have this week :)

I was in line at the drive-thru yesterday afternoon, and my son noticed the car in front of us had 4 antennas, looked like am/fm, cell, satellite radio, and not sure what else. Inside his car was a gps unit on the dash, and a laptop opened and running some windows program facing the driver (in passenger seat). Now *that* is what you call a gadget freak, imho ;-)

I agree, but I tried my GPS with voice assistance and was much better than the current built-in GPS, which you can hardly see where you are because the screen are so small and you cannot see far enough. With GPS and Microsoft streets you can see as much as the size of your display. I'm not saying that I will be using my laptop as a GPS each time I go into my car, but you never know when you might need it, then I know that it works and I have it installed in my laptop. Also if I go in a trip and I rent a car without a GPS, then I will be able to use my laptop and I will not get lost ;)
