Hi, I’ve been using this laptop for over a week now but steal can’t get rid of this bug.
First I downloaded all the latest drivers from the internet and everything worked fine, but unfortunately I found that whenever I try to start Skype laptop crashes into a BSoD and restarts. Then after complete format I tried to make a clean install of WindowsXP and drivers, that I installed one by one and tested Skype. It came out to be sound codec’s fault. After some experiments I finally installed an older version from Compal’s website – Realtek HD Codec 1.70, and the other one the laptop kept crashing with was 1.78. But in my disappointment the problem didn’t disappear completely, it steel crashes from time to time, approximately one or two time a day. I tried to test hardware for instability and didn’t found any. So I suppose it’s Skype and sound codec incompatibility problem.
Did anyone experienced same sort of bug? Please help me fix it.

I only have Vista 64bit drivers on my CD. It's like 2 or 3 year until I'm installing that one. :D

Suggestion: Revert driver back to 1.73.
    See if it helps.

No, didn’t help, tried all of them. Maybe there is some sort of hardware failure, but I can't get a warranty change with that sort of problem. I'll probably get something like don't use Skype. Also it doesn't load OS after passing post sometimes, as if there was no boot device, only a flashing down spays in the top left corner of the screen. Anybody had a problem like that?

No, that was just VPU recover dump, those other weren't even dumped at all, since my page file was located not on the boot drive.
Waiting for it to appear again now. :)

Made format 3 times, tried all sorts of driver combinations but with no deference. Then finally I updated Samsung HM250JI hdd firmware till 08 (from 07) and the matter began to show up more rarely but it still is. I get different error types with different audio drivers. Don't even know now what may be the cause but since the error code are varying it must be memory system (HDD or RAM) or something bad with their controllers but somehow it comes that only Skype can bring it out.
The worst thing that nor one of testing packets didn't find any errors.
It’s a real pain, since I can never be sure that it doesn’t crashes and take my made progress down with it.

I'll try to send it to warranty in January, when I'll have I chance to use HEL80 for a while.

Well, I already use latest audio drivers for a while but Sod was steel here, the Skype version I use 3.6.0.216 and I see Skype com, has the same.
    Though BSoD has become very interesting now, I get STOP: 0x1000008e (0x80000004, 0xbf82f130, 0xb9734b88, 0x00000000) Win32k.sys.
The OS doesn't even dump the memory. I have read a while in forums, and it is 99% memories subsystems fault. Maybe it's time I try working with only one RAM stick at the time.

Yappy, I got it back from warranty repairs. They wrote that the MBO was changed; I guess it is short for Main Board.
So far, no BSoD's. ^^ Let’s hope it'll be that way.
First fin I noticed that VGA became much cooler, about 3-5 degrees, but unfortunately the OC degraded also. So my theory about higher voltage in earlier versions was true. One way or another it's better then having BSoD's all the time.
