My problem is NOT that the buttons don't work; it's actually the opposite. I've noticed that occasionally as I use the laptop, it acts as though I've pressed the audio/video buttons when I haven't. What I mean is that it'll change the settings (from "normal" to "office" video mode, for example) despite the fact that my hands are nowhere near the buttons--in fact, it just happened as I was typing that last sentence. I believe it has also happened with the mute button as well, but that was less noticeable and could have been me forgetting that I had muted my system earlier.

Has anyone else had this problem? Also, is there a control panel for those buttons/how do you access it?

Update: Also, sometimes when this happens, the blue LED under Wow Vid/Aud buttons lights up and doesn't go off until the mode changes a few times; when this happens, they don't respond to my touch but simply change the modes at seemingly random times.

Are you sure a finger isnt brushing up against it? They are EXTREMELY sensitive.

Maybee the upper plate or keyboard is not mounted properly so that it occasionally presses the buttons?

Check the disassembly manuals at compals site to fix it.
