Importing the Zepto 6324W?

I've been looking for a few weeks now, but there does not seem to be an equivalent 14" notebook in the U.S. market. The closest I can get here is the Asus A8Jm which seems to be a bit behind the curve when it comes to new tech. Luckily, I have a friend who will be leaving for London to visit a friend. He leaves on the 30th June and will be returning on the 20th of July. I have few questions before submitting my purchase and I'm hoping some of you can help me with some answers.

First of all is it possible to simply order the 6324W and have Zepto ship it directly to me in the U.S.?

If that's not possible, then what is the probability that Zepto can complete and ship my order (placed ASAP) to my Friend's friend's U.K. address before the 20th of July?

What should I know about bringing a Notebook through U.S. Customs with regards to taxes?

And finally, are the CD/DVD drives found in Notebooks region protected? Or will it be possible for me to order the Zepto 6324 without an OS and simply install a U.S. copy of Vista onto it?
