In case i dont sell my 4850

I was wondering in case i dont sell my 4850. Im just gonna give my msi gx620 to my sis, and i was gonna buy another cpu p8400 for her to put this laptop.

i am looking OCZDIY17B1-US

i was wondering if anyone will know if i can put the 4850 in this laptop, i think y t9600 will work as well.

 

should work its the MXM 2.1type III connector.....ill probably buy it in a week if its still for sale at the price your offering it though.

 

clever i prob will have it still most likely.. just pm me too see if i still have available. thats good i might get a ocz after i get my sis a notebook since it offers quad core support like a q9200 etc...

 

still thinking about selling my msi barebone with the memory for $350 has wifi on it i think ima go for the ocz. it comes with a 130m gt but if i put my 4850 in it would i have to mod the heatsink or get a new one or is about the same size as the 4850.

 

dont' get the msi 4850 for the m17/whitebook becuase it doesn't have a crossfire conector.

 

i have the alienware 4850.

edit: i had no idea OCZDIY17B1-US with this notebook you are able to crossfire it? but wouldn't i need a different heatsink to fit it on since it comes with the 130m gt? and i could still crossfire it? woah if i can do all this im definitely getting it.

 

still not sure if this laptop is worth it i need pictures to see where the gpu is anyone have dissembled to see where the gpu is? so i can see if the 4850 can fit and if i need a new heatsink?

 

I'm looking for a slave 4850 if anyone has one for an Alienware M17. I could use a master, but I would prefer a slave. If anyone knows where I could find one I would appreciate it. I know the scarcity of these cards but I'm not looking to break the bank either. I'd be interested in anything reasonably priced.

No I dont Espada, Ghost is the guy who bought my Master, he is GREAT to work with, if someone has a slave, or Master for sale, you can't get ANY better of a buyer then Ghost AWP. I know he only has 3 posts, but he's solid guy. Bought mine and paid quickly.

OCZDIY17B1-US. I hope you are still not thinking about buying it because you think your 4850 will fit this barebone. It will not. OCZDIY17B1-US has an integrated 130m not a slotted MXM. So I suggest you research more about that barebone. If you want crossfire or to able to use your 4850 then choose the A series OCZDIY17A1 or OCZDIY17A2.

 

yea i know found that out like 2 months ago decided to go with the gx720 cause of q9200 i want to get would like to put it in with a 4850 to see how it works. thanks mooking.

edit: ima see if i can get a pair of 4850 directly from alienware i have to talk to a friend who has it to see. if by any chance if anyone has the slave # i have the master card # this will help alot more.

 

Good luck Espada. I have spoken with several people who called AW and they said they are completely out of stock. Even for warranty replacements.

 

Just curious but would the mobility 5870 fit into the W840-DI, and two in crossfire?

if i am not mistaken the w850-DI comes with the 3870 and i think its a mxm 2.1 slot III.
5870 is MXM 3 will nont fit. the most you can go is 4850 if im not mistaken.

5870 has not been made for crossfire yet. they dont have a crossfire connector.
