I am considering building a laptop and demonstrating a completely free software solution at the end of this year (as a senior project), and thus preparing a computer for myself that will last through 4 years of college. The Sager 5720 (in rjtech.com or ISTNC's Clevo M570A barebone form) has looked like a perfect candidate in terms of future proofness (for an engineering student, Maya comes to mind here), but preliminary reports have cited 95 minutes of battery life (at NBF). This disappointed me very much, as I hoped for at least 2.5-3 hours of battery (on a high end NVidia graphics based system (OpenGL) and a 17" laptop with a keypad (sorry, no i9300)). Now, for 5720 owners, what kind of battery life are you getting, and can this improve by underclocking the video card or undervolting/underclocking the CPU?
Also, does anyone know of a place to purchase a Clevo M570A barebone other than the two sites that I listed above?

EDIT: I almost forgot! The heavy dependence on linux necessitates the NVidia card and Centrino base. The configuration I'm considering:
Clevo M570A
Pentium M 750
1GB DDR2 (one stick for later upgrade)
Intel 2915 Wireless
Hitachi 7200RPM 60-80GB
I'd like to (must) keep this under $2000.
Why build it myself? No need to spend extra $200+ on 3 year warranty, each component has one of its own. Worst comes to worst (HD wise) I can pull the old 30GB disk out of my C600 and still have a working computer, if windows doesnt force me to reactivate.
