Well the s96j I'm getting is around $1100 after getting all the parts, already have the OS. Yeah, I couldn't find it for $800 though =X

Not the same service though, but I never buy warranties, that will probably be my downfall though...

    a few practical questions ...

i am quite new to laptops, thusfar allways been with comps. so i was wondering to what extend can you upgrade laptops/notebooks. are they upgradeable at all ? if so how much compared to a comp

and what are those services you talked about. could you be any more specific ?

    regards, prom

Well with laptops you are somewhat limited in upgrading once built. You can upgrade ram and hard drives easily. Some computers have upgradeable graphics but very few. Basically you buy a laptop use it for 3 years maybe more and then get an entirely new unit. The benefit of course is mobility.

in terms of services we build your machine for you (and can do any future upgrades or assist you with them) and part of our building is the auto paintjob you see here.

Warranty gurantees craftsmanship quality-hard drive failed? We'll replace it-with a new one. Memory failed? replaced. We gurantee we'll keep your system running in top form. Our pixel policy gurantees a perfect LCD free of any pixels stuck or dead if not we'll replace it-most companies allow for 6 pixels and often will try to limit support to the center of the screen.

Great news! Thanks to some adjustments we can now complete our machines much more quickly without any sacrifices in quality. Our lead times have gone from 1+ month to 1-2 weeks or so. Thats twice as fast. We've also managed to cut prices, check out the new pricing!

Also our warranties now include accidental damage protection (spills, drops etc.)

Do you have an idea when your site will be up? It must be some subconscious thing but I fell better buying anything expensive from a website

Im looking to get a laptop around the end of summer and depending on your prices, I might be interested.

    TIA

    ....seems expensive.

a dual core with integrated graphics thats 12"... wouldnt a dell M1201 (or whatever it is) do all that but also have an NVidia card dedicated>?

or a W7J... slightly larger, but weighs the same as your mentioned AMD....

    maybe i'm missing something? =/

Our two 17in models now come with 512mb 7900GTX graphics and for customers who purchased systems with 256mb you can upgrade :) And our 19in model now has 512mb in SLI!

The 12in model is made to support AMD rather than intel (in some cases such as with scientific work AMD is superior to intel) and also the build quality and customization of our machines is superior to that of dell-every machine we build is unique

Has anyone actually bought anything from this guy? I'vep seen him offering these deals for the past few months and I haven't seen anyone that has bought a laptop from him. I personally expressed interest months ago and never got a response. He claimed that the laptop in his avatar was done by his paint crew when it was done by Smooth Creations. Something smells here..
