You guys, I'm beginning to lose my mind.
I have spent the entire evening trying to figure out how to install Windows 7, (because you know, IT DOESNT WORK) and I may have finally found a possible solution, however, I need a little help finding a driver. During the installation of Windows 7, I get a bluescreen before any data gets copied onto my harddrive. I believe this is a driver issue with the SATA driver of my Intel PM45 chipset mainboard, but I cannot find those g'damn drivers anywhere! For christ's sake! What I did find was something called "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" or something, but the .exe I downloaded won't do. Can somebody help me, puleeease! :)

Oh, and NO, they are not on the driver DVD which came with the laptop!

Turn off AHCI in the bios and use IDE...

Your problem is probably in BIOS. Try setting hard drive controller to IDE. I'd give you more info but can't go in to BIOS right now... good luck.

Ok, I have switched from AHCI to IDE and the result is exactly the same. A freaking bluescreen. :(
Also, I have now found the drivers myself, but they don't change a thing. When I load them during the installation, they are found on my USB flash drive properly, but the blue screen still appears! WHAT THE F!

Dave can you verify he has the same settings in his bios that you do?

Can't verify. There are only two choices on my machine... ACHI or IDE. Phoen!X, suggest you try to read the BSOD... use pause/break button. If that doesn't work, use a camera, capture the frame and post it up here. If you're midway into Win7 install procedure and the machine auto reboots after the BSOD, I think there is a way to stop the reboot... sorry, don't remember how.

Oh Dave, have discovered the cause of my machine waking from sleep after 6 hours... the fault is Hibernation malfunction. Win7 Power Options defaults to 360 minutes... (waiting period before Hibernation kicks in from Sleep Mode.) The OS resumes from Sleep ok (has to in order to invoke Hibernation) but never enters Hibernation. Therefore, the machine remains on until Sleep cycle kicks in again.

How are you booting the Windows 7 DVD?
Are you using the F12 boot menu? Because you need to do that as the automatic boot function on the Windows Vista/Windows 7 DVD's for some reason makes the PC Bluescreen when it starts to copy files to the harddrive. It's not enough to just set the BIOS to boot from the DVD. You need to manually enter the F12 boot menu and select the DVD drive there to boot from.
The Danish Zepto site has a full guide regarding this :)
I've just thrown it through the Google Translate. Some things make perfectly sense other is... well not so well translated by the auto translator :)

PS The Windows 7/Vista installation works fine both with AHCI and IDE mode (AHCI is recommended to be enabled)

I now have Windows 7 properly installed, thanks for the posts, but I tried a completely different workaround, which, surprisingly, solves all problems.
I had to install Windows 7 from a USB flash drive. Yes, really.
For some odd reason, I was greeted with a bluescreen when I tried to install Windows 7 from the DVD - this also happened when I attempted to install Windows XP, but I gave that up and went with Vista, which surprisingly didn't have that problem.

The only thing missing now is the fingerprint reader, the version on the Zepto driver disk is not supported by Windows 7 x64. :(

It would appear so. You can invoke hibernation in the shutdown menu... or configure lid or power button to do so. Hibernation from Sleep is not possible at this time. (at least I was unable to make it work) To prevent the machine from waking up from Sleep, disable Hibernation by setting "hibernate after" under Sleep in advanced power settings to zero minutes.
