Received my Whitebook yesterday. I thought I'd hate the glossy finish but it does look something different than the usual gray or satin brushed finish. Is the finish a luxurious coat of paint? Because if it is, it's a nice paint job. No way it's rubbed out as too much labor. It could be plastic resin but I'm not inclined to scratch the surface to find out. Or it could be plastic altogether with some sort of special surface. Anybody know?

I am pretty sure it is glossy paint.
-
its a coating its not the same thing as paint..
-
yeah.. paint goes under glossy coat goes on top.
like when you stain wood then barnish it to give it the shiny look to it. -
but the glossy top coat from what i was told today is not paint its more of a laquer type coating

Just by looking at it, it certainly doesn't look like paint.
-
don't forget many were return due to deficiencies in the coating
Is the Whitebook painted or resin coated?
