I received my GL30 shell today and to my surprise there wasn't even a paper build leaflet.
I have worked with major suppliers here and the manufacturer usually releases build powerpoint manuals for the reseller.
The question I have is that the HGL has a ferrite core plug next to the CPU - do you plug it in? What does it do?

There's this thread:

And this is a video of a HEL80 being assembled, so it won't be exact--but it can show you some of the steps:

Here is also a disassembly guide for the EL 80. It should give you more insight on the "insides" of the HGL 30 even though its a disassembly guide for the EL 80.

never mind
i'm installing the o/s now!
it's pretty confusing at first with all the parts - but it's fairly self explanatory
if you can build a desktop you can build a compal!
the only tricky bit was inserting the screws into tight places. -

Glad to hear you've got it all sorted out. Enjoy your notebook and please do stick around and share your experiences with the other Compal enthusiasts here.
Is there an ODM PDF build manual for the HGL30?
