no you can use a credit card, just make sure you choose that option in the shopping cart. The wire transfer just gives you a 3% discount.
And yes, that's a good deal -
I'd drop:
1GB ram. I mostly use about 400-500MB anyway, max.
120GB drive. Way too much - I have more than enough with my 80GB, a 100GB would be the biggest possible I could imagine having.
Bluetooth - hardly usable. I only have a mobile phone with it and I'd hardly use it as it seems.
Extra battery (9-cell) - absolutely useless unless you REALLY, REALLY are going to use/need 2 batteries at the same time. Travelling a lot? Perhaphs you should go with a 14,1" FT00. Or something even smaller.
Vista - heh. I use Linux, so I could save on that too
It is a good deal, just wondering tho if you really need all that stuff.
Something to think about; plus, you can always get some things later (like the 802.11n card, b/g is mostly good enough as for today).
In my case the factor is price/performance/robustness ratio, but if you spare the money you have come to above, then well, it's really up to you to be honest.I'd not want to spend that much on a laptop but then again - like I said, your call ;-) Definetly pnotebooks is a good reseller from what I hear and from the contact I had with them, they seem nice
-
Vista ultimate is good if you can get it for $40 from the M$ store

I am afraid I would have to disagree with imachine on this one. Your configuration looks perfect to me. You have selected 2GB of memory which will be quite useful with Vista, and the 120GB SATA 3Gb/s Seagate Momentus 7200.2 Hard Drive at 7,200 RPM is the "Sweet Spot" for hard drives now because it has the best performance/price of them all. You can't get the 3Gb/s 7200.2 in anything lower, and it is only $15 more than the 100GB 1.5Gb/s 7200.1 version.
Also, I do not see where you ordered a spare battery so I think imachine misread that one. -
Smart Li-ion Battery (6-Cell) - (WXGA & WXGA+ Screen Only)
Smart Li-ion Battery (9-Cell) - (WSXGA+ Screen Only) <- Then again he might have just copy pasted the listI thought he ordered both at first.
As regards my suggestions, I merely wrote, as stated at the top, what I'D drop, with reasons for the changes aside them. Ofcourse if you run VISTA, 2GB is a good move. I'm just saying how I see this order and what I'd change in it, had it been me ordering it. Personally.
Cheers -

I understand imachine, and you are certainly entitled to offer your personal views...please don't be offended just because I offered mine which were in disagreement with yours. I stated my reasons as well.
Let's not make this a place where we have to agree with whatever someone says...asking for opinions invites different points of view and we are all entitled to ours. This gives the person asking different viewpoints, and the reasons why they are different, and then allows that person to make up their own mind after getting various opinions. -
Don't take the possibly excessive irony as a sign of offence - I could be called a lot of I guess, but certainly easily offended wouldn't fit too well with those descriptions
But glad to know we share some views on how we'd like to see this place flourish, and what is the true reason for it's existence. Personally I don't see it as a surprise, reading words like these by you. That being a good thing, and in good intentions meant.
And now, back to the topic -
That config looks reasonable to me. The idea is to think about what your needs are going to be over the life of the machine.
I currently have 512MB of RAM which is way too small for me now so I went with 2GB.
I made a different choice with my HD: 160GB 5400RPM. I value space more than speed. (I currently have 40GB which is oh so painful!)
I also selected Bluetooth. I have a Treo which I currently sync using a cable and that's a pain in the neck to plug in all the time. I'm looking forward to syncing wirelessly. I could use infrared but that's also a pain in the neck to use: Bluetooth is the way to go. -
Overall I think the specs are top-notch for that price, really. The processor could be a little better for the price, maybe by downgrading the hard drive you can upgrade the processor a bit, though you probably won't notice the 200MHz difference, so the T7300 may be the best for you.
2048MB of RAM is practically a must in today's computing world, two gigs won't do you wrong so with that much you shouldn't have too much RAM clog ups which can slow your computer down a lot if you have a lot of processes running. -
I think to sum up this thread a definition of a good deal varies from person to person - depending on the needs and what one wants with the obtained merchandise/labor, and that's not just regarding purchases, any deal for that matter.
Is this a good deal??
