According to K|N, yes.
-
Now put a couple of friggin real 4870s in it....
-
I'd be happy to have just a few driver/bios updates--particularly the fingerprint reader--still getting lots of errors with that, no idea why
-
yes asi is the one selling these now.
-
so...... will the big question remains, will they provide better driver support and will they distribute the 4870?
also, AW will get the 4870 directly by flextronics? -
none of which can be answered ..... yet

electrosoft Perpetualist Matrixist
Strangely enough, it looks the same.
Will be interesting to see how it unfolds and what the barebones cost will be once deployed.
Still a wickedly powerful notebook, even in the realm of 9800GT/X and 4870's. -
should we flood asimobile email with questions ranting about those issues and demanding better support?
-
no will not do any good they are simply flex's distributor. they have nothing to do with that end of things if you want something done flood flex/arima, ocz owns hypersonic notebooks and they actually have their own tech division so they were trying to keep up on as much as they could from flex
-
Still nothing about who OCZ might use to put out a different DIY barebones system?
Despite the problems OCZ may have had with Flex the Whitebook was(is) a popular machine and OCZ should be looking for a notebook that will be just as good to make up for those notebook sales that are now going to go to ASI. -
ocz at this point is not putting anything new out that they have announced yet except the new diy netbook
-
read somewhere it was going to be a new compal model
-
all i know is last i heard it was "possibly"

Hah! I got a kick outta this. visit the ASI Mobile website, choose their "Support" tab and then the IQ17/AG17. Scroll down to the "Disassembly Guide" and click it. Notice anything odd? The system is still the OCZNBIM17A - They coulda at least re-named the dam manual & chassis! Oh, and all drivers are STILL outdated. Flex is a bunch of effin losers.
Side note: ASI is a well-unknown re-distributor of semi-well-unknown vendors. must have cut a good deal with Flex.. Suckers. -
Is this the new flextronic whitebook distributer
