    JHL90 - Disable AHCI?

    Greetings!

    I assume that AHCI is enabled on this laptop because I had to insert the ICH9M drivers for the XP install to see the drive.

    The problem is I am moving to an OCZ SDD and I read that AHCI should be disabled due to a number of problems/bugs.

    I understand why but it sucks how restricted the BIOS is on these things. The only things I could change were the date and time so I flashed to the current BIOS and now I get to change the boot sequence as well :(

    Wow man thanks for this quick response and gem!!!

    Do you know of a way to disable AHCI and get back to XP without reinstalling/repair-installing the OS?

    Also is there any way to get extra settings in BIOS?
