    Hi all,

My JHL90 motherboard has blown and I can't find a replacement in the UK. Can anyone tell me what other manufacturers used the JHL90 as a base for their re-branded machines so that I might be able to get aboard from one of them?

    Many thanks for your time

    Hey Pigpen,

Unless I am much mistaken I believe Intel manufactures those boards. I'd have someone else here double check but I am almost positive it is Intel.

Now finding one will be a whole different story. Not sure if you can just ebay an intel PM45 board specifically for your JHL90.

    Good luck!

    Cheers for the reply.

I have a feeling that I will end up having to get a new machine, most annoying.

I've never built a laptop before but I assume I can't just jam a new board etc into the chassis like I would a desktop?

I agree. Baking can be very effective on the solder joints. I have really only considered doing it on a GPU before but trying it on the whole board may be effective :)

I'm just guessing, but instead of the baking trick...can't you do the same as with the Xbox 360? Just remove the coolfan, turn laptop on and let it overheat itself? Offcourse it will reach a high temperature and shut off out of safety. With the Xbox 360 this solves most RROD problems, isn't this a solution to the dead Nvidia cards?

Note: I'm not saying you must try this! I'm just asking if this COULD work.

since the model has been succeeded by KHLB2 for a while, it's a pretty hard task of finding a reseller that still stocks spares for JHL90.

    Good luck, anyways
