99% of the time you will not have a issue but it is FAR SAFER to do bios updates via dos then windows. one day when you do have a issue you will find out.. i never had a issue till one time and ill never use windows again for a bios update

or not updating it properly then you reboot with a corrupted bios and no way to fix it unless you can use crisis and have a usb floppy drive..

The safe way is don't update, only do this when necessary.
Update the BIOS only if you are experiencing issues with the Hardware or software and when you are sure it will resolve them. (contact dealer for support)
But the most important part is to check th BIOS release note, this will explain the new version and what has been update, changed or adjusted for support, compatibility or marketing.

personally i disagree but i guess its up to the person in question. i will always do bios updates. they are released for a reason

That's correct, but what is the new release supporting or what's adjusted to improve or to solve.

Then again i agree with you, the latest BIOS is always the best, but the BIOS update is always a risky thing.

    Hey Guys,

I know this post is dead but since I created it I am bringing it back to life :)

So... apparently there is a new 1.16 BIOS out for the JHL90, however compal still has the old 1.13. (I have my info from ASI). ASI however will not let me download because you need to email them.... and I am not a direct customer... blah blah blah.

So does anyone have a copy of the 1.16 for the JHL90?? Thanks!

Zero improvements. If you don't have any problems, don't update.

But I am sure there is something else, especially since I am running the 1.13 still.
