I just received a new BATEL80L9 battery for my JHL90 from one of the many battery websites. It came from China (as they nearly all appear to) even though it was a uk website. The battery won't charge in the laptop with the battery LED amber and blinking, according to the service manual that indicates the battery is abnormal.

It's not the laptops charging system because the old battery charges OK with the battery LED blue and blinking as it should.

Is the new battery definitely a dud or is there anything that can be done to make the battery charge?

I personally think it is a fake battery and it is broken. A new battery should charge normal. So try to get a refund or try to get a new one.

I purchased from Batterystars on eBay. Batterystars did refund my money but it cost me $14 to ship back to China.

Do you have any clue how to solve the problem?

I want to purchase a new battery, but I don't want to have to send it back...again...
