well, i finally decided to go w/ cyberpower and i just ordered an Xplorer-X5 5850 notebook. will tell everyone whose been skeptical about cyberpower how the experience goes. i placed the order over the phone and everything went smoothly (the sales rep. was really nice and patient) so i guess everything's going good this far in....
-
nice, im getting that same laptop too, when you get it be sure to let me know what you think of it =P
-
will do
just hope cyberpower's a reputable company. this is really one of those hit or miss kind of things
...
-
yeah I got mine a couple days ago. It shipped a full eight days before the expected ship date. All the parts are what I ordered, driver CD works, buttons work, got my free t-shirt and bags. Main complaint about the laptop is that the LED light around the power button is too bright.
-
lol, you call that a complaint??? i sure hope mine comes in a good condition like yours. i'm guessing that you went with the no-OS option too since you had to use the drivers CD? how was the driver install?
-
right, I chose to not include an OS (since I already had Vista)
the cd comes with drivers for like each component. Only ones I installed are the 8600GT one, webcam, and the Intel wireless -
nice! you think you could tell me your 3dmark06 score?? (and some links to some pics would be nice
)
-
I might take some pics later. Don't really feel like doing 3dmark
one thing I wish the laptop had is those media buttons (for music ie. play/next track, etc) -
no media buttons?? then what are these??? :
(the ones next to the power button i mean) -
toggle webcam on/off, open e-mail, open internet browser, toggle wi-fi on/off
-
oh lol. well, that works for me
-
Dood if you dont mind, im also interested in purchasing the same laptop you got, but im wondering...how did you get it for 880??? cyberpower says it starts off at 999 o_0
-
i went with the "no operating system" option, which took $83 off the base price of the notebook. then, instead of choosing the T7500, i went with the T7250 processor, which also cut $40 from the pricetag. also, there is a special coupon code you can use @ your shopping cart page called "MYSPACE" which cuts $30 from the price of the laptop (i just checked, and the coupon is still working as of 2.9.08) so at this point, the price of the notebook should actually come to around $846. but then i added a couple of extra accessories that took the price back up to $880. yeah, pretty good deal if i do say so myself
-
dang you didn't have to deal with tax?
-
nope
i guess cyberpowerpc just doesn't have it. plus, shipping is free too. the laptop hasn't arrived yet though, but when it does, i'll be sure to inform as to how about its build quality and how it performs
-
oh of course CyberPower is going to charge tax, but only in certain states (I'm in one of them, California)
raised the price by like $70 -
oh lol, sorry to here that. good thing i live in ohio
geez though, i hope that the lappy arrives here soon despite the snowstorm...
-
Just joined the board. Wanted to tag along with this thread. I am also thinking about buying this laptop and want to check out your review when you get it.
Thanks. -
post your laptop pics if you can
and if ur gonna overclock it post the overclock results
-
working on the pics, not all too sure about overclocking
-
Im thinking i might just order this notebook....949.95 as it is on the website (after smartcompu coupon). It shows no tax for Arizona! Woot.
One question...their warranty page says all systems come w/ 3 year warranty but they notebook page says only 1 year warranty. Did you get 1 or 3 years? -
I'm pretty sure I got the one year warranty, though I really don't care much about it since this notebook seems durable enough
EDIT: There is an annoying problem though with the battery where if the system incorrectly shuts down (mostly due to software stuff), the laptop fails to properly detect the battery unless you actually take it out for a while and then put it back in. It's pretty weird... but it's only happened twice for me and I really don't mind. Still, it's something you may want to think about before your purchase. -
hey benx, did you ever get a Cyberpower sticker or something to put on the cover of your laptop? I don't think I did, so the top lid cover is just black with nothing on it
-
I hate to bring back an old thread but I was wondering how your laptops are doing?
-
Stumpster, check your PMs
-
congrats!!!!
-
