I'm preparing for College and as a graduation present the folks decided to buy me a laptop. They gave me a $1500 budget. After some research (and a realization that Alienware laptops are overpriced), I ordered a computer from CyberPower. Here are the specs:

    Model: Xplorer X6-9300

Intel® Core™ i7-2720QM Mobile Processor 2.20 GHz 6M Intel Smart Cache, Max Turbo Freq. 3.30 GHz

    8GB (4GBx2) DDR3-1333 SODIMM Memory

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M 1.5GB GDDR5 PCIe Video

    500GB 5400RPM SATA300 Hard Drive

This was the best I could do with my budget (without doing a homebuild; I have no experience working with electronics whatsoever so this wasn't an option for me). I'm interested, does anybody know what games this computer will be able to run?

Virtually every game out there at at least medium settings...
Nice setup by the way, enjoy!
Post in the gaming section for a more detailed answer.

try MSI GT680. I think the price should be cheaper, with a nice designe, a better hard drive and a capacity of up to 16GB of ram.

I just ordered a Xplorer X6-9200 which is close to the same specs as yours. With that build you should have no problems playing almost any game on good settings. One thing to keep in mind though is that laptops aren't really meant for gaming and you'll have to keep the heat concern in mind while gaming for long periods of time.

No. The particular chassis this notebook uses does not offer backlit keys.

Cyberpower..do your research before ordering from them! Heck, on their own forum they are asking to FIRE one of the Cyberpower salesmen, LOL.

Most of the people who speak highly of them are the lucky ones who never had a problem. The other are so cost conscious that they don't care!

But the prices will get you every time ;)
