Received my notebook late friday and just had a chance to unpack it. I was up and running in 10 miniutes!!!!!!!!
This notebook is/was worth all the hype, the screen crystal clear, sharp and the colors are amazing. No dead pixels!!
The chassis is SOLID and IMO is extremely well built. The keyboard is pretty cool too, lights up red, blue, and green.
If anyone wants any specs, scores, temps, let me know and i will see if i can get the info for you.
I will see if i can run some 3D marks and post some pics by tomorrow....

Surprised you didn't get 64bit for that 4gb of ram. At best you'll be using 3.3gb of it.

Older one(WU1):
New one(WU3):
The WU1 have better brightness, better contrast, better color saturation and better viewing angle. I wonder if the Clevo's are shipping with the WU3 now as well? I'll wait for the WU5 to be widely available... -
can you post the idle and load temps please
-

A COMPLETE REVIEW NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And maybe I'll marry you -
As for a review i am not a writer at ALL!! . I will post my observations and if you have any questions ask...
When the notebook arrived it was packaged GREAT, double boxed with foam pellets. Installed my battery and a/c and it powered right up, i was in windows and on the web in 10 min.
The two features i notice best are the screen and the keyboard. This screen is crystal clear, bright, vivid, and sharp. I was watching a Blu-ray earlier and the detail was amazing!!
The keyboard besides lighting up (looks really cool) is rock solid. i was reading in other posts about keyboards that flex and give when you type. Not here, this is like typing on a solid desktop keyboard.
The notebook is not as thick and as heavy as it looks, i had to go on a trip this afternoon and packed it up and was gone.
When in balanced mode it runs cool, when in high performance and i ran 3D mark it got warm but nothing excessive. All the features, ports, and OS function perfectly, not a glitch or error thus far.
IMO this notebook is awesome and is well worth the money. RK Computers did an awesome job, our next notebook is being ordered this week from them for sure!!
If you have any other questions let me know and i will try yo answer as best a possible. -
Would be great if u could give us some temps ( idle and after 3dmark2006) concerning GPU, CPU & HDDs.
Could you stress the GPU farther more - like using furmark half an hour?
Thanks! -
Hey IDOXL,
Thank for the comments/mini review.
I do have a question if you don't mind answering. How loud are the fans on balance mode, is this computer something I can take to the library without disturbing people.
I had a 5796, it was very loud and reved up every couple of minutes, which was why I traded mine in for a whitebook. -
I just removed all this "Junk" from my new computer and am not going to install any more. This notebook with a T9600 runs EXTREMELY COOL.
If your not aware intel has approved this model for the QX9300, I have a T9600 in mine. If intel has this approved and running with a QX9300 we don't have any problems below that. I ran this through 3DMark 3 times in a row and it never studdered, slowed down, got hot, or crashed.............
This notebook Kicks A**:

I had the same model and it sounded like a 747 at lift off!!!!
Even when this model is at max fan speed (high perf mode) it sounds nothing like that. This has a whisper as opposed to the roar of that model. -
Gah, that's so good to know, and puts me at ease!
Thank you, you're super awesome! =D -
by the time u get some visual aids up, my laptop will be here already
-
One thing to note, I don`t know if you`ll be able to get readings from the GPUs temps...since there is no sensor.
Curious to see how this unfolds though... -
steveninspokane John 14:6 - Only ONE Way!
theres no sensor?
-
i thought the no sensor thing was just Mark's pre release version.
-
no sensor.. .. .. .. ..?!?!?!
o.0 -
-
with the x9100 ocd to 3.33ghz, that easily hits 14,5k in 3dmark
-
i think part of it is also derived from crossfire. that crossfire is pretty impressive, if not more impressive than sli. wootz ati!
-
no pics and reviews yet?
-
Mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. (fingers crossed)
-
Temps and pics are what people want to hear.
Z, I wouldn`t count the XPS out yet,I`m pretty sure a new line of GPUs will be available for it soon. -
mine's arriving friday, UPS
-
you dont need be a genuis to post some us some temp huh
-
Ever since he's posted this I doubted he received it. Especially after hearing they shipped out on Monday..
-
-
Also, these look sooo much better than my pics. And are exactly the the same as the notebook i received:
http://www.rkcomputer.net/downloads/photos/RKC-1756/index.html -
Thanks for the pics IDOXLR8.
@Chef
I don't see why a consumer would lie about receiving the laptop? especially knowing that he will be bombarded with questions. Well, hopefully his pics will put your worries to rest. -

Why would you doubt this customer received this? The Dual (crossfire) card and single card models have been shipping for quite some time now. 50% of our initial pre-orders have been delivered and the rest are in transit. This model with all the available configurations are readily available now from the manufacture......................
EDIT:
If anyone wants/needs temps, scores, questions i will try to get them over the weekend when we get caught-up. Let me know what you want.......... -
Thats a good lookin laptop. Just like an old M9750
... Post some gaming benches if u have some time cause a lot of people are wondering about that.
Just Received My RKC-1756 Extreme-OCZ Whitebook!
