Just Recieved "The NAGAMAKI" (aka OCZ Whitebook)

Well FedEx was supposed to deliver it tomorrow, but as impatient as I am, I called them up, and had them hold is so I could pick it up today.

First Impressions: This thing is a beast, It's built like a Rock, very solid, Keyboard is very nice to the touch, no problems with delay. Red, green and Blue look VERY good, all of them, Be nice for someone to hack it to add more colors, but still is very cool.

Played some cod4, no lag, everything looked great, I haven't had a chance to really put the new lappy to the test, but Seems like a great Laptop.

Sound is some of the best I have heard from a laptop, crisp, very enjoyable.

Fingerprint reader works alright, no problems there, haven't messed with it too much though.

Again, back lit keyboard owns.



That was first run out of box, not to bad, but Mark guarantees 14500, so we will be messing with some stuff.

Anyways, More to come, but just thought I would get a little teaser post going for you guys.

wish mine would come in.. *grumbles* its my own fault, when I found out turbo mem didn't work I asked to upgrade to bluray. Xotic had my OCZ in transit to them from the builder, and so the BluRay ROM delayed it cause they had to send back to the builder. Tuesday is so far away! I envy you steven

Congrats Steve on getting your beast.

A few things.

First, don't call it a lappy. It's a serious kick *** gaming monster. Not a lappy. Let the Macpro peeps call their NB a lappy.

Second, you would think KN or someone would be trying to see if they could get more colors. I mean you have the three basic color LEDs to do this (RBG). You would have to find a way to have two of them stay on at the same time. RG=Orange?, BG=Yellow, and RB=Purple.

Third, this NB is bound to start taking customers away from the 9262. This should force Clevo to upgrade the 9262 with at least HDMI to compete.

According to mhooper, it boots up white. That should be easy, all three LEDs on at the same time.

The white keyboard during boot up has to be some kind of diag.

 

Exactly. Like can't you just use RBG combinations for different colors etc... It seems pretty easy to hack to control...We should ask Findvikas.. or someone who deals with the AlienFX stuff.

Ok what programs should I use to bench test crysis, I just installed it.

 

i think using the Crysis benchmark tool would me best, not sure where to get it. i wish i had my laptop so i could have a look

what do you think of it performance wise? have you played Cod4 yet? what kinda FPS were you getting, im trying to decide if i should get rid of my 9262 and get the Nagamaki from KillerNotebooks

 

I thought the benchmark for Crysis came with it. Isn't it in the folder that it gets installed into?
