A little "out of stock" or "backordered" label would be nice. Shame on me for expecting it to be in stock when nobody else had it, but nowhere during the shopping or checkout process did it indicate that it would take more than a few building/testing days to ship.

I don't mind a wait, but a little notice would be nice. Especially since the "order status" is just blank instead of saying something like "parts out of stock". I'm not a big fan of the guessing game, and waited a few days before I called and found out that the chassis for the SXS37 (aka Asus S(Z)37s) was out of stock. Portable One originally gave me a rough estimate of when Asus told them to expect more, but Asus failed to deliver. P1 has very understandably not given out another estimated date. I understand that this is because Asus isn't delivering, but please let the customers know instead of waiting for him or her to make the first move. Again, the delay is not Portable One's fault in any way.

P1 was very kind and very professional in their dealings. They suggested various alternative notebooks that they do have in stock, and were very prompt in responding to emails and great on the phone. I apologize sincerely for any negative publicity that they received as a result of my original (and incorrect, I must confess) post. I hope that this one can be viewed less as "slamming" and more as positive criticism. 1am was a bad time to write a criticism, and I apologize.

An "out of stock" indication on the web page or an email notice to purchasers would have eliminated this whole situation.

EDIT: To anyone who may have read this post earlier, the credit card issue was no fault of P1's. It was due to a credit card that expired shortly after the purchase.

As of right now P1's site has a "Delayed until October 15, 2007" posted on their site for this model.

I've been waiting for a good review of this laptop, and was wondering why we hadn't seen any yet. Looks like P1 didn't get a chance to ship many units out before being hit by shortages from Asus.

Kind of a bad time to be in the market for a 13.3" notebook. Asus can't seem to get these shipped in any real quantity close to 4 months after they were supposed to be released, the M1330 had it's price tag upped a few hundred bucks and you still have to wait quite awhile before you get one, and the SZ6 was just plain expensive to start with. It is almost enough for me to feel OK that I don't have the money to buy a new laptop yet. ;)

Thank you very much P1 for putting a delay notice up, and I hope (for everyone's sake) that Asus can make good on that. I once again apologize for the way I reacted. It's very nice to see a company taking advice like that, especially so quickly.

And yes dylan, it is an absolutely terrible time to be shopping for a 13.3" notebook. I would have jumped on a W7s if it wasn't for the stupid RAM design.
