going to stop it at 25% or so and you can do the math lol
-
-
It takes 20 seconds to go up 1%
-
Nice...
Thats not bad at all. -
what are we using mhooper? for the encoding...
-
-
There ya go
-
I have some other benchies to do that one took forever to figure out
-
I totally understand It can take 4ever for a computer. F*** crysis try coverting and see how good your computer is. I sometimes on a movie I love I will set the setting on Ipod or PS3, FF*** something, vivid, and HQ Ultra and it will take a day I will set it up before bed and watch after work the next day But the picture is better than the orignal.
-
no it didnt take forever figureg out how to use it took longer lmao
-
Well maybe some xotic PC owners can come on here and post their benchies soon since myself and RK computers are the only ones posting lol
-
Your the Man mhooper. hey was all 4 cores at like 100%?
-
nope they werent if you look onthe right i got the monitors in there
-
They still had like 20% or so per core
-
it says i dont have yv12 decoder. trying to encode alien resurrections
-
Oh sorry man that ISP stuff again can't see'em. But I will read this thread again when I get back home so I can see'em. That's sound's good thou because most encoding programs don't use the video cards so you may be able to play games and encode at the same time. SWEET.
Hey Johnksss did you start your run yet?
Edit: Oh cool...
Thank you both 4 your help -
Itold me the same tthing jsut go to video at the tip encoding and one of the runs it
-
it also says ... no combination of filters could be found to reneder the stream
-
John do you have Xp or vista?
Because you need Microsoft framework. 3.0 is best but I think Xp has a lower ver you may have to up update.
Plus you need Avisynth but I though Xvid4psp comes with it. -
i have vista
-
Then I have no clue why it's not working. I thank you 4 trying though.
It won't be a head to head but you can try handbreak I have never used it but I hear it's good. -
Lol, the last few pages seemed more like a msn convo between mhooper, chamilitary man and johnksss.
Hey hooper, can you do me a wprime test please? -
yeah, it did.... didn't it. *LOL*
im a bit amazed at how ati came back up! im sitting here wonder if i should switch systems or just roll with 9800m gtx's and be done with it...... -
The W840 DI nearly beats the Sager np9262 in every category, cept CPU and HDDs
-
how about a cpu-z pic as the orthos report 1600mhz fsb ?
do you have temps from the furmark run ? -
Hey man, if your serious give me first shot at buying your system it's awesome. Just PM me. But if you don't, I think I'm going for the K/N Nagamaki QX9300!
-
The Clevo/Sager is a great machine, and I would guess it would perform slightly better higher resolution gaming, especially Crysis (and more significant improvements at higher resolutions with the 9800m GTX). If you are really considering switching, I say wait until the Mobility 4xxx series become publically available. Single 4850 has already been tested (on archaic 3d06 though).

@ mhooper1125:
Could you run the "PassMark Performance" tests for me? It doesn't take long to download and the benchmark is really short.
Here's the link: http://www.passmark.com/download/pt_download.htm
..and if you've got any time left also PCMark Vantage.
Also how loud are the fans on this thing when idle and when under load.
I really appreciate everything you've done for us so far.
Thanks for being our guinea pig
and +rep to you
-
Sure I will run the passmark test. Thansk for the + rep.
Ok also Wprime.
and PC mark vantage.
Sorry i didnt make it to walmart to buy a few games last night the fights didnt get over till almost 3AM and was a bit tired. Will be going over there today to get them.
Like I said sorry if I dont keep the this thread as up to date. will try though.
I didnt do temps after the Fumark run but the fan wasnt even in high during it so they couldnt have been all that high =)
The fan noise- To be honest with the QX9300 in here the fans rarely are even going full speed under all these test. When they are they are noticeable but not loud by any means. During normal operation and fans on medium/low you cant even hear them. -
yes, nothing wrong with that machine there! not a dammn thing! and with the qx9300 running...it's destine for great things.
really? 4850 you say..... what was it's outcome and are there any gaming test around on it? -
from what i've seen there is no 4850 test, its a collection of pictures that made many people speculate upon. but he may have another source
-
i see what you mean.
-
hah, remember the time you quoted me on the other forum for discussing single GPU benchmarks? It was in reference to that. Here is more info (only 3dmark06 tests done so far):
edit: just use link above your post, pics of actual card (engineering sample probably) is on the 3rd page -
but what keeps throwing me off is his resolution of 1024x768 and 1280x800. and his total score on 3dmark is only 10.2. while running an x9100. doesn't quite fit the bill of speed...at least...that's what i was thinking...(speculation of course) if that we're my card it would be running at 1920x1200/1680x1200/1280x1024 (more speculation of course)
oh yeah, about running single and dual card mode. reason why was because...
some people like to know what the total performance in one card is vs 2 cards, so they can gage their percentages. (example 10% 20% 30% increase over running one card)
battery usuage using one card vs 2 cards
how it runs in single and dual card mode
making sure both cards are performing up to par.
compete and rib with single card users. (i use to do this when i had one card)
and not everyone can afford to buy both cards right out the gate(thanks to the nvidia hella dammn high pricing scheme) so they buy one first then "try" to get the second later. (in many cases...easier said than done) but now thanks to ati, they made it allot easier to get two cards and not have to wait to shell out another 700 bucks for a second card. gt's in the total cost range of 500 bucks(more speculation)
also, not all games scale well with dual cards, so you like to test out both scenarios to get the best gaming experience possible.(imho)
not to mention...im just dammn nosy and i like to test both ways. *LOL*
because when you start trouble shooting your friends & customers, you like to already have a major jump on the problem and how to either help fix it, compensate it or just flat out replace it, but if it's somethings simple... then end user can do it...who wants to wait 2 to 3 weeks for ones machine to come home...unless your upgrading to the dual card from a one card solution.*LOL*
edit: did you see his battery left meter!!! 5 hours!!
we are struggling to maintain anything under 3 hours!...*LOL* and 3 hours is seriously pushing it! (more like 1 to 2 hours, but im leaving room.)

Here is the gaming request thread:
http://guruofgaming.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2362 -
More pics up at GoG under my first thread. Will have benches up soon, installing now. Will also run all other requested benchmarks as soon as I get them done.
Battery life is around 2 hours from my best guess. Havent tested it yet just ballparking from what Ive seen. -
ballpark is always welcome. i remember mark saying it got that, but not sure if that was under stress or or casual web browsing. still very nice indeed.
-
mhooper that OCZ looks soo nice. I really like its design. Ah and btw. if u re going to walmart pick Crysis up - its the ultimate benchmark for any computer.
-
I hope your not talking about desktop cores from your sager 9262. I get about the same temps on my 9262 as he did with his ocz.
-
Interestingly enough, AMD/ATi has three high end mobile videocards listed under its device ID page: 4850, 4870 and the 4850x2. I'm not sure if the latter is one MXM card with two cores...
-
-
hey marek, do your temps get as low as the 40's as well??
-
Crysis bench up only on VERY HIGH setting so far will have High in a minute:
Also temps during the crysis run.
This is with some background processes too. Including windows sidebar, Blue tooth and a couple other items running. Also this is no ready boost nothing at all added for performance. -
when you ran it...you went inside the game first. then set everything to high or very high, clicked ok. then set the resolution to 1920x1200, then click ok, then clicked out of the program. then ran the benchmark_gpu from the crysis bin32 folder. using the original crysis with out the patch (1.0 or 1.1 or 1.2)
-
Went in the game, (no patch) after isntall. set everything to VERY HIGH, clicked ok res. was at 1920 x 1200 ran it and posted results.
-
sounds good to me.
-
Yea those temps are kinda high. I have never went over 72 or 73. I have a q9650 though. Thats when I was doing stress testing and everything.
-
Ok soemthing give I just bought this disk literally less than 5 hours ago and it says it cant authenticate it lol. I think my disk is bunck so trying to fix it.
-
flyinonice4:
hummmm, i think i will redo the cpu then...maybe something isnt sitting right with the heat sink. -
yeah, the GTX though runs a bit hotter then the GT. My old 9262 with GT idled at 43-46C, the GTX idles at 48C. After long hours of playing Crysis the GTX will get to 77C max so far. I do use a notebook cooler but I m really struggling to get above 77C. And I mean, not even 5h of Crysis will do that so far. Also wierd, but the GTX after quitting Crysis wont go that fast to idle temps as the GT did. I doest get baack to 48C but after some minutes have past. GT was much quicker in terms of that. Anyway all those temps are still simply astonishing. 9262 is the last notebook in the world that I would think would overheat
Just got my K|N QX9300 Nagamaki
